About "...But Wishing Makes It So..."

Well, in the first place, Jared isn't exactly me; he's more what I think I'd be if I (that is the genetic me with whatever preprogramming that does to the personality) had "The me I am now" as a father. (Along with an appropirate mother, like one of the lasses here Laughing .) Also he doesn't physically look like me. But he does read the same magazines and books, listen to the same music, have the same values, watch the same TV and movies Cool , drink the same beverages Shocked , use the same figures of speech, and pretty much relate to women the way I do Embarassed . (Well, actually, in his Wish-world he does a *little* better.)
Waht he is, instead of being a fan of a show called BtVS, he's a fan of
Buffy, a girl one year older than he is that he's seen both in the hallway at school and in action.
I figure I didn't break any major rules about MAry Sue charcaters here. In the first place, I don't involve him romantically with a major character from the show, and she's not on-stage long enough to matter. Plus he's as much the villain here as he is the hero and not much of either.

As to how he knows so much about Connor, I stretched the continuity here just so his little speech about the "improvements" in this Wish-world could have as many examples as possible. As backstory, I'm assuming in this world Anya has told everyone as many details as she remembers about Cordelia's Wishverse.
PArtly I wanted to do a story with almost everyone in it and I hope I pulled it off. I deliberately left the menace of "the bright future" as an undefined "maguffin" because the story isn't about that.

The name "Zimzonreet" I got off an old game show where contestants had to unscramble old movie titles; it's a scramble of _Intermezzo_ and I'v e wanted to use the word in a story ever since high school; still don't ahve a story where I can use "Romanode" from the same show. The simile "weight...in rhino vomit" is one I came up with years ago when trying to come up with a reference to something that's very rare but kinda not in big demand.

This story can fit into any BtVS continuity that includes Season 7. PErsonally I see it occurring in the same reality with my "Children of the Dale" futurefics on "another site." That gives it a quasi-happy ending because in that series both Angel and Harmony shanshu, I bring Tara, Jonathan, and Anya back, and recently I decided to do the same with Jenny. (Not the rest of them, tho,sorry.)
