fiatluxTHREAD STARTER
Welcome!!!
If you're new here (and I'm assuming you since you're reading this), you've found a great place to post! Below are my hints for getting settled in around here.
#1 - Read the board rules. The link is at the top of the screen. They outline all sorts of important stuff - avatar sizes, not spamming, spoiler font, etc...
#2 - General chitchat, show related or not, tends to take place in New Beginnings (NB) in the General Discussion Forum and The Official Twistie Thread in the Un-Buffy Forum. Both threads are frequented by really nice people, so come by and introduce yourself!
#3 - About spoilers: if you have read the board rules, you already know not to post spoilery info in the thread titles, and to make sure that any spoilery thread is clearly marked "SPOILER" in the title. It can be hard to remember that the folks outside the US and Canada are several months behind in watching new episodes of "Angel," so please be careful what you post where. (Aeryn usually posts a thread on Wednesday nights dedicated to discussing the lately episode of "Angel.")
#4 - Respect people, play nice, don't use the board to start relgious/shipper/whatever arguments... blah blah blah. We pride ourselves on being a place where discussion, debate, and disagreement are all okay, but please use common sense.
#5 - We do have minors who read and post here, so please use discretion with your content. (Although you'd be surprised how far you can push PG-13.) And don't forget that communicating in print is a bit tricky, so be careful when playing around or teasing that it comes across as that. And if there is a misunderstanding, PM the poster and ask them about it. Or a mod if you are really uncomfortable. In my experience 95% of the time, situations like this are misunderstandings.
#6 - We have great moderators! Don't hesitate to ask them questions or bring concerns to them. Please use the private messaging feature though, especially if you are having a problem. If you aren't satisfied with the response from a mod or you don't hear back from him/her, contact another mod. (Believe it or not, the mods do have work/school/life to deal with and sometimes aren't online for a couple days at a time.)
So again, welcome to the family of hellhounds! I can't wait to meet the fresh blood... er, newbies! Wink
