sabarendtTHREAD STARTER
Let's discuss, no?
I was rather surprised to see alot of the views I saw. Firstly, the show isn't purposely insulting just catholics, right? Exorcisim is a serious deal for those who believe in God. However, please know, this isn't meant to insult Catholics. Any bad rep the church has recieved due to Sex scandals is their own fault. They covered ALOT of that stuff up for decades, it is just biting them in their asses now.
Also, I do agree, stutterning could be a major problem, BUT look at what really fixed it. We find out it isn't imitation, but instead it is being comfortable. Everyone stutters when they're REALLY nervous don't they?
On Poor Bitch....That was a very cute scene. They performed an Emergency Tracheotomy (sp?) with a Bic Ballpoint. The actual joke wasn't him almost dying, it was the doctor later saying, 'Well, actually the Bic Medium Ballpoint is the pen of choice for that"
I feel that the characters are very believable, they are "over-the-top" on purpose. You are supposed to see, clear as day, that the parents and siblings are completely differnt from Jaye. Excuse me, what was that Gay comment? I sure hope that was a compliment, I take that VERY personally, and that statement was extremly over-generalized. She lives in a trailer for a reason, she feels pressured to live up to her parents and siblings and feels she must GET OUT!!! we all feel like that alot. I think the Trailer Park is alittle over the top, but it really does help the story in future eps, as I have read. In order to help her deal with her problems, she must be away from her parents and family, but not be a total isonaltionist.
One more thing,I am confused as to what the statement about her being rude and not having ethics is about. She is 23 and you expect her to be grown up?? I'm 21 and I am not very ethical and can be rude like her sometimes.
Just remember, this is TV. Everything isn't real, and we arn't all out to get your precious religions (well, Joss and I are, but thats a horse of another color).
