Anybody here watch it? New season starts June 13th. If you want quality...well here it is. As a bonus, MT will be on 6 episodes.

Next to BtVS, this is my absolute favourite show.
IMHO no other US show comes ANYHERE near it in terms of quality and dramatic honesty (except may The Sopranos - but thats about mafia hoodlums, SFU is about everyday normal people)
I own the first season on DVD and each times I watch it more sublties are revealed in its densely layered story. Excellent excellent excellent!!

I originally thought that CARNIVALE was going to be a 12 episode series and nothing more. I was surprised and delighted that it was continuing. I know S2 is in production but it is such a mystery with the way HBO schedules its series. It kept me watching and I look forward to seeing what happens to the characters and the story..whenever!

Wouldn't watch it on a bet ; why spend an hour of TV going over ground I covered as a kid ? (And people wonder why I don't like roses.)

Daddy - I am assuming that you were raised in a family business same as SFU. Granted...that is the biz, but the stories are about the people. Awesome acting and delightfully quirky too.

Saw (and loved) the first season, but then money issues caused me to abandon HBO, and I refuse to pay the insane prices for the DVDs. Maybe I'll be able to catch up someday, just can't afford either right now.

Tycho - doesn't your local video store have the dvd's? Rent them. DVD prices are insane but if you belong to Sam's Club or Costco...so much cheaper!!!!

Myth - Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing, but my local video store charges something in excess of $4 per rental and they break up the season sets into individual disks, so it still gets pretty expensive. Being poor sucks. Wink
The Whedon DVD's just spoiled me too bad. 22 eps of one of those shows for under $40 or 12 eps of an HBO show for around $100? I'm still hoping the X-Files sets will come down someday too.

I find the show is often disturbing miles, which is one of the great things about it.
SFU is not passive TV, it is confronting and provocative. But it is also very funny, warm and life affirming.
As I said, it is truly a unique show amid the safe and repetetive stuff that makes up mainstream US TV drama.

I've seen a couple ads for SFU on HBO an there is a killer song that the actors lip synch to. Can anyone tell me what that song is and where I might be able to find it? Already checked HBO.com and they weren't any help so I'm relying on you Hellhounds! Thanks in advance --
