Do not open any emails entitle

'A virtual card for you" even if sent by someone you know. The virus will destroy the hard drive. Reported yesterday on CNN to be the deadliest ever. I received notice from my office.

Beware...or lose your computer!!

We picked up a virus 2 months ago and I watched my screen disappear. It was horrible...had to start over and retrieval of material is a bitch!! This new virus just kills and no retrieval possible.

Myth: Shocked I wonder if that is what happened to my computer. Haven't been able to get on line since last weekend. I think I made the situation even worse by trying to reconnect and messing w/connection lines.

Going to store this weekend where I bought computer to see about upgrade to newer model w/flat screen.

Thanks for the warning. Good luck w/staying away from the virus.

Thanks Zack....got the warning from my office yesterday. We don't take chances anymore. Now, not only do we have to worry about a possible virus but also a virus hoax. Stupid.....and nasty.

My school picked up a virus, and EVERYTHING shut down. I'm talking every computer in the school zapped off. Really creepy.

I think the saddest thing is, those who develop viruses and don't get caught often get hired afterwards by big software companies to work in their security dept. and end up making three times what I make.

I almost had a virus the other day thankfully It looked strange so I scanned it ( the attachment) and sure enough. I'm glad I didn't open it but FYI the sender was faithbuffy@buffyItalianworld.. I though perhaps it was just a fellow faith fan. nope just a loser w/to much time on his/her hands. there is a Buffy Italian World site but I believe it's non-related.

Luckily, we are still at the point that simply opening an email will not run an executable program. Openning an ATTACHMENT on the other hand...

When you get an email warning about some new virus that you haven't heard about, check out these two sites:

Lately on some days I can get up to 5 emails at a time in my bulk mail folder, that say, for example 're. Your music', or they'll simply be headed with a mail delivery failure message, with a link to retrieve said mail. If you click on that link, that's when the virus will get you.

In short, obviously it's best not to open any mail or attachments from somebody not in your address book or who you have never heard of.
