Down a long dark twisting passage lit only with candles suspended from the walls is a wooden door with a sign reading "Dia's Cave."
The door swings open effortlessly... as you step over the threshold, you are amazed that the cavern was cut out of living rock... the stone floor and stone walls are made of limestone and glisten in the candlelight... a roaring fire is burning in the hug stone fireplace which lights and warms the room... in the far corner is a bar and a barmaid fairy is fluttering around making it ready... before the fire are a number of big comfy chairs and a large plush hearth rug... on the hearthrug in front of the fireplace are large cushions where diablita is resting... along the walls are comfy sofas, lots of blankets & throw pillows... above on the ceiling is a ceiling fan and hanging from the fan, obviously left over from Christmas, is a sprig of dried mistletoe...
As you look around the room you notice several doors in the walls on either side of the fireplace. One has a sign reading "Passage to Zack's Chambers" then under it is another sign reading "no admittance... except on weekends." One of the other doors has a sign reading "Passage to NB thread." And under it is another sign "open weekdays only." There are two other doors one has no sign and the other has a sign that reads "Gutter Pool"...
Diablita turns slowly and faces you... "Welcome to my cave... make yourself comfortable, the barmaid fairy will take your order, the unmarked door is there for exploration of my caverns, enter at your own risk. This is room is for quiet conversation and relaxing, so enjoy." She turns back to the fire...

*Wish dons her modified miners helmet and ventures into Dia's cave. She clicks on the flashlight mounted on the helmet and slowly decends into the tunnel. Upon reaching the door to the large chamber, she knocks*

Not much. I got your 2nd PM, but for some reason, I can't see the picture. Confused
I am kinda bummed today. You know how I felt about covering for the girl on maternity leave....well, now, someone else went out on 'Family Medical Leave' and guess who they want to cover for her.... Yup! Me. Mad
I'm really getting tired of being yanked around here!
*Wish wonders over to the barfairy and asks to have her drinking helmet filled up with vodka & tonics

Her husband had a Kidney transplant.
The thing is, when she got the call that they had a kidney for him, she just took off (last week) and still hasn't called in to let anybody know exactly what is going on or how long she plans to be off....nothing.

Yeah, that would be how things stand. Mad
From my point of view, there is a history of this person doing stuff within the company and leaving me high and dry - basically screwed every time. Evil or Very Mad I know I shouldn't take it personally, but now its been 3 times.....
someone's letting her get away with stuff... of course they can't say no to family emergency... but there are also requirements to call in and let ppl know etc... don't you have to apply for those kinda things sorta or call in and let ppl know... stuff like that?
and isn't there anyone else who could take her position?
I understand your anger and frustration... I'd be also... grrrrrrrrrrrr Mad

She did apply for the FMLA awhile ago with the knowledge that one day they would find a kidney for her husband and she would need to use it. I understand that....its just the fact that its been over a week since she's been gone and not a word from her about how long she plans on being out. She did have time to email someone that used to work for our company awhile ago and told them that things were okay, that person told someone else that works here and thats all we know.
She has been with the company full time for 6 years, and just in my opinion, once someone becomes a full time employee, just short of killing someone, its impossible for them to get fired. Confused

Since my boss is the head of Human Resources, he said he would try to contact her. I don't know if he was able to reach her or not. Rolling Eyes
I guess since I am the lowest person on the totem pole, I will continue to get the re-assignments. Sad Apparently, I am good enough to learn how to do everybody else's jobs and fill in for them, but I'm not good enough to hire into a permanent position. I'm only here as long as our contract with the government continues.
Hence, the reason I am starting to look for another job.
3 years!!! that's a long time for a contracted person... yeah... you'd think they would... maybe they're waiting for the contract to run out then they'd hire you... but then they may not get that chance if they keep treating you like this

Its an open ended contract. They can hire me anytime they want to. I just don't think they are going to.
I guess I was just getting too comfortable and was wishfully thinking they would see what a great person I am *cough, cough* and hire me....I guess I over shot that theory. Laughing

*Wish bounces in, sees that the fire is roaring and the barmaid fairy is on duty. She grabs a glass of warm milk and curls up on the couch to catch a nap*
Hey dia, don't mind me, I haven't been sleeping well and I'm just going to get a cat nap.
