I looked back several pages and couldn't find anything about this so I decided to post it.

Comic Con: San Diego, the proper title Razz , always attracts some big names who go to hype upcoming movies or TV shows. Most of them don't sign autographs or anything, though (SMG probably won't, either). They just talk about their upcoming projects. In the past couple of years they've had Ben Affleck, Liz Tyler, Toby Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Arnold Schwatne... Arnold Schwetzne..... Oh, hell, the govenor dude. I'm not going to go look up how to spell his name.

Question....do the Comic Con PTB pay the actors more? DB and SMG only seem to do these Cons and don't bother with the rest. From what I heard at a Vulkon Con that DB asked and rec'd 50 to 60 K for his Comic Con appearance last year. Vulkon couldn't afford to pay that much. Just curious here.

Sarah is probably being paid by the movie producers to attend. What she will most likely do is go to a Q & A discussion where she'll talk about the movie, then leave. That's all. In the past 4 or 5 years, those types of events have grown in number at CCSD. Spider-Man, Hulk, X2, Attack of the Clones and Hellboy have all had presentations in the past couple years. Very rarely, one of the stars from a movie will sign autographs after the discussion. In fact, Ron Pearlman signing promotional Hellboy posters is the one time I've heard of this happening.

While it is still technically called Comic Con: San Diego, it's really much more of a multi-media event now. You'll have movie studios, record labels, and video game makers all sitting next to the comic publishers.

Don - I went to some other forums and it was posted that the producers of SMG's new movie are paying her to attend the Con. This actually seems a little silly to me since the movie won't be out for a while. Most of the questions will be Buffy related and many posters think this will aggravate SMG since she seems to be embarrassed of her role as Buffy. Does anyone here get that impression from SMG?

BTW - what is Japanese Manga?

No problem. I don't know where in Michigan you are, but if you're interested in a convention like this (on a much, much smaller scale), you just missed the Motor City Con in Novi. Julie Benz was the only Buffy guest, but they have another convention in the fall. Here's their website:

I don't see thast it's important whether or not Sarah "likes" cons; she's never really been primarilay a genre eprformer and there's never been any real reason for her to do them. I know ALy did a few early but I would never expect ehr to do any now. Same with Seth and Charisma.

Charisma wouldn't surprise me actually. I know she took time off to have a baby and all that, but her post-Cordy career hasn't exactly made waves in Hollywood.

It may not be this year, or even next year, but I could see her attending conventions in the next couple of years.

And Seth Green actually reads comics, so I could see him attending one of the bigger shows just for fun. He probably wouldn't do any autograph signings or anything, though. Just walk around some, like Mark Hamill did a couple times in San Diego.

DonC; Well there is always the future; even Nimoy and Shatner eventually started doing Cons. I fantasize that I'll be 105 and living in a zero-G retirement home in an O'Neill colony and by that time ALy will be doing cons again in her 80s (hey Anne Gwynne did cons in her 80s) and I'll finally get to meet her and AMber when they hold one in the "downtown" section of the satellite, if the doctor gives me eprmission to go into a gravitational section, that is.
