Robot Buffy took over everything right? I'm a little confused when Dawn is sent to the Guidence Counsler and she talks to her about the deaths she had. Did anyone know? Know one noticed her grave stone?

Hmm...good question, but I think her grave was sorta hidden, cuz I didn't see any other tombstones around the area.

Buffy's grave was destroyed 2years later anyway, doubt anyone found it before then, it was like out in the middle of the woods. Rolling Eyes

Of course, I assumed they put her in the cemetary. A good example of not assuming things.
Attempting to keep it constant, but hey, who cares?

Buffy's grave had to be kept sort of hidden, for fear that the forces of evil would find it and then dig her up to vamp her.

But (as has been pointed out in some Buffy books) even if ti was hidden, that tombstone would be kinda visible to anyone walking past, and in a lonely part of Sunnydale that's likely to be a non-human bad guy. (Of course in an unposted fic my Mary Sue narrator is walking in the woods and demands an explanation and Willow uses her magic to give him one....)

Just, even hidden, putting her name right on the stone was un-bright.

About the guidance counsellor and the "lot of death" statement, don't forget that the counsellor was Halfrek - and she was a demon, hence she had access to knowledge the rest of the school board did not.

I'm sure this has been discussed. But why was there no replacement slayer this time? I guess Faith has to die for that, huh? Seems like like a faulty scheme. They would have been slayerless for a long time...

Faith of course was in jail, hence Buffy Bot...without her, yeah they would have been slayerless;but Willow was gonna attempt to ressurect Buffy anyway... Confused

Buffy had already generated a replacement Slayer in Kendra - so by the time she died in Season 5, the Slayer line was no longer running through her, but through Faith.

"Yeah. I never actually got that."

I always thought that, since Buffy died but was revived, she still is the Slayer, but another one was spawned in her five minutes of death. So the Slayer line splitted into two.

But then it came her second death and no Slayer was called. And she was revived a lot after that. So... "I never actually got that."

Of course, in S7, they continually make reference to Buffy having to die in order for one of them to become the slayer....

Which is, well...wrong.

I think the Scoobies themselves believed Buffy's death in Season 5 had given birth to a new Slayer, hence the "Buffy has to die for a new Slayer to be called" statement.

The Scoobies are wrong. And Joss answered this question about the Slayer line - it now goes through Faith, not Buffy.

Otts: If you think the scoobs were under the impression there was a new slayer, wouldn't they have looked for her?

so glad someone else pointed out the S7 slayer line incontinuities, kinda thought it was just me that was annoyed by that. specially in Potential, where Dawn says it would mean Buffy died for her to become slayer. just wrong

Otts; It went thru Faith but now the rules are changed. Does it still go that a new Slayer is calaled when one dies (thus fixing the number at soemthing higher than 1 but still fixed) or that any even remotely worthy Potential gains her pwoers automaztically when she reaches the "Age window" or soem third alternative and I'm reallyu detouring the topic aren't I?

Just playing demon's advocate here, but maybe another slayer was called, but just didn't/couldn't make their way to sunnydale. Isn't it possible that she was called and didn't have a watcher there to explain what was going on? I mean, I think its possible that the watcher's council overlooked it. And how did they know when and where to look for a new slayer? It sounded like Kendra's family knew from a time when she was very young, because she was training with her slayer before she was called. We know that buffy was not. I know, a little off-topic, but now I'm getting confused.....

Perhaps she was called but didn't became 'The Slayer' just in that time, and then Buffy was revived and she became like a Half-Slayer... Ok... well... and then... but... Faith was made in five minutes, the new slayer we're talking about HAD to exist if the Slayer line was in Buffy too... Shocked Shocked Shocked ... so... yeah, nothing matters now, the world's full of Slayers and my bringers are busy. Yeah, as I told before, I never actually got this, and may never will.
"From Beneath You, I DEVOUR!"...
Yeah, right.

Just watched Grave. Noticed Buffy says to Giles: "But I was done. Someone would have taken my place." That doesn't fit out Faith theory. Any thoughts?

Also...The potentials knew they were potentials. Sounds like Kendra knew too. Nobody ever called Buffy a potential. EVER. She was found as the slayer.

Well things could have gotten screwed when the Slayer before Buffy, India (I got this info from Tales of a Slayer volume three).

India was just like Buffy she was called early and not known anything about Vampires. BECAUSE! The girl Chosen before India died in a car crash before she coulod be called as a Slayer.

So, maybe things got screwed after that.
