Always a last minute thing... too bad about Juliet though - I wouldn't have minded seeing her again.

I am sorry that Juliet and Robia won't be there but maybe they have acting gigs. Robia has been looking...hopefully something good happened for her.

Myth - they explained that Juliet did get a movie Very Happy - thats why she can't attend. They just said Robia's management had a conflict with her attendance. Rolling Eyes

Ooooooo - I just checked the website and they also added Lee Stringer - the special effects artist from Angel. That will be so cool to talk with someone from behind the scenes. Very Happy

Okay, please don't kill the messenger - I am just reporting what I am reading from the Vulkon website.....

Jenny Mollen (Nina the werewolf) is now unable to attend - something about filming something in Holland for 5 weeks. Rolling Eyes Apparently, her boyfriend is Drew Goddard - there is a call into him to possibly attend the con in her place.......have to wait and see.

Also, there is a call into Nathan Fillion (Caleb on Buffy, Capt. Mel 'tightpants' on Firefly) to possibly attend as the fill in for Juliet Landau....have to wait and see on that one also.

As soon as I know the skinny, I will report back.

btw, robia was "fired" by julie caitlin brown for being "difficult"

i'm assuming (as are alot of people) that her spiritual faith and her request for a spiritual discussion board didn't jive with JCB and of course robia wouldn't back down either...

Hawk - hey there Very Happy

It was mentioned on the Vulkon Forum board that Robia was no longer being represented by JCB but that Robia was still interested in attending the convention. I don't understand why she can't. I would think that the offer would be made to the actor to attend the convention, not their management.

Wish - The problem is, JCB is dragging her name in the mud to the con management. I think she's getting better representation and maybe even talking to Fernando now, from how she sounded in her email to us.

Like Hawk, I've see RLM at two cons. Whether or not you agree with her Christian message, she is one of the stars who spend lots and LOTS of time with the fans, attending just about every event. And she doesn't bring up her beliefs unless asked. Heck, at the Nashville Con last fall, she seemed almost reluctant at first to discuss her beliefs and only went into detail when the crowd encouraged her to do so.

You know who I'd like to ask about how she is to work with? Dizz on the Vulkon staff. My experience of him is that he's a good guy, but he will tell it like it is.

That sorta pisses me off. It is getting rather annoying! Could it be that maybe people are emailing, not because Robia asked, but because this is bullsh*t. Maybe they should shift their annoyance to JCB. I did request that they announce their reason, espically if it isn't personal.

Someone's faith should not be held against them. JCB should not be these people's con agent *period*. Robia is not difficult, if anything it is JCB that should be labeled as difficult and a diva.

I really can't stand JCB.

I say HMC continues to support Robia as we have been this morning - keeping up to date on the situation, featuring her, and being blatantly honest. Go us!

Oh trust me, we'll be covering it as long as it goes on. Anytime there's anything having to deal with JCB and her shit, we'll be covering it.

OK, I am a big dork I know but... I really like Robia, she is a wonderful person. My brief experience with JCB has been the complete opposite. As I posted on Robia's board, we have seen James go directly against what JCB has said, her screaming "absolutely NO flash photography" To which James gets up on stage and says "F*ck that take all the damn pictures you want, and use flash" And I know Wish has had some run ins with JCB or witnessed them with others. I have this unrelenting desire for us to post to Steve Himber and anyone else we can think of (James Leary, Danny Strong, and Andy Hallett's board comes to mind too) that fans are incredibly unhappy with JCB and although we understand she is doing a sometimes unpleasant job for them. We as fans believe it would be better for them as well as us, if they found other convention representation.

Personally, I would hate to be in Fernando's or Joe's position. As business men, they can't burn the bridges that support their business. But, to let someone like JCB start this whole mess and get away with it makes me (personally) dislike her even more than ever. I support the Vulkon conventions and I hate what she has done. Not only is she trying to sully the good name of Robia, but now she is holding Fernando & Joe over a barrel.

I've seen Robia twice and attended a discussion group she arranged at the last Vulkon Con. She is warm, personable and caring. So sorry to hear all this crap. I'll email Fernando, however, this has got to be a sh*tty situation for Vulkon.....their livelihoods depends on guest appearances and if JCB represents most of the celebs then how can you rub JCB the wrong way? JCB knows she has power and it sounds like she is using it and abusing it.

If you haven't seen JCB in person...she looks like she means business and she looks like she could take on The Rock. Funny, the reports from Moonlight Rising were positive about her this time...she was friendly and 'loosened up' among the fans.

One of the Buffy-criticism books (probably Topping's) mentioned Tony and Murray were brothers. I assume (not being a rock fan so the ref. meant nothing to me) the same Murray H. who tried acting playing part of a triangle where both Glenda Jackson and Peter finch were after him.

Hav eheard plenty (Esp at The Kitten) about JCB before but as a contrarian I won't say too muchbbeacuse I haven't seen her in action myself.

I think that petitioning the con organizers to re-book Robia after she was inked out wasn't exactly the right approach. (Albeit that was not a very polite response it generated; but then agin this isn't 1958 anymore either so who in public life is actually polite these days?) Just maybe a fully thought-outb take on what's been happening wioth the talnet at the cons these apst months.

On the third hand, the guys wouldn't have time to read thru anything like that untila fetrwaRDS ANYWAY!

I haven't seen official word, but the Vulkon website has photo op tickets for Stephanie Romanov for Oakland. The pictures though haven't been updated yet, so we'll see if this is true.

In addition to Stephanie Romanov being announced as the replacement for Juliet Landau, they are now posting that there may be a possibility of getting Adam Baldwin (Hamilton on Angel, Jayne on Firefly) to be a Bonus Guest for a seperate fee. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
