Hey guys and gals,

Just reminding everyone in the U.S. that election day is tomorrow (although I'm sure everyone knows this, I figured I might as well make sure). I know people say this every four years, but this election is the most important one we've had in recent history, and it is very important that you don't forfeit your vote.

By the banners in the right corner of the site, you know where I stand. But I believe I should point out for everyone to vote, no matter if we differ on the issues. We need to make a choice one way or the other.

537 votes. That's what the difference was ultimately in Florida in 2000. If you don't believe your vote matters, think again.

I know we don't normally do politics on this site, but I feel as a bi-partisan comment, this is a needed post.

Thanks for reading!

I still did it, but voting here in the Cleveland area is embarrassing. We still use paper ballots. We fill them out like third graders taking standardized tests. We tried electronic voting and the older people didn't like them. We tried punch cards and we had all that hanging chad stuff. So it's back to technology from like the 1940s.

Don't even get me started on the millions of dollars spent on replacing all this equipment every year.

Actually Don, a lot of people are starting to push to bring it back to a piece of paper and a number 2 pencil...and honestly, I can't say I disagree with that idea. There's a better chance of getting all the votes correctly when you have a definitive box checked clearly on a piece of paper, and it's supposedly faster to count too (which to me makes no sense, but that's what's been said).

Anyway, I voted in the advanced voting precinct last week and we had the diebold machines, which are the ones that caused so many problems in Ohio in '04. I'm hoping this problem doesn't come up again.

We tried electronic voting and the older people didn't like them.

Everyone votes by mail here - we don't hang poor little chads or use them newfangled electronics

Hey Nora can I have the next dance? :D

Down Under uses the paper & pencil version of voting (should see the size of the Senate papers - that'd be I'm guessing your Congress/House of Reps?).

Have you stopped partaying yet?

Congarts US citizens on your new pres-elect! Enjoy your party, but don't Randy Marsh it...

We have our election here in February, and municipal ones tomorrow, which are actually pretty heated compared to years past. Hope everything goes OK.

Your election date is the same day of the assassination (damn that's too many s's...) of Yitzhak Rabin...just so you know that this is a date of significance in many layers.

And again congrats to you all and party on!
