New Beginnings is all ready for the new year. I have restocked the bar, plumped the cushions, and just got the 'bots back from their annual tune-up. Come in, sit down, relax, and let the craziness begin.

Happy 2009, Nbers! I love you all hard.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hair of the dog, Nat? Did we overindulge last night? *Val raises one eyebrow and gives Superspy her best maternal glare*

I was a good girl last night. I only had one glass of wine. Of course, at 12:01 am I took my anti-depressant and was passed out cold by 12:30. Gotta love better living through chemistry, don't ya? ;)

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

I'll take a grapefruit martini (don't knock it until you've tried a good one!), a glazed donut (the hell with New Year's resolutions!) and one delicious and finely tuned Spikebot
Some days its not even worth chewing through the restraints.

Shit, it actually is 2009.

It just hit me that it's the turn of the first year of my life as a non-soldier. 2008 was contaminated with the army for most of it...2009 is clean. I know it sounds stupid, but that is some crazy shit to wrap your head around.

May 09 kick ass. 8-)

Happy New Year you guys!

Man, how am I spending my new year? With my kid driving me nuts.

We're never had sleeping issues, maybe 3-4 nights totally he didn't want to sleep since he was born (he's 4.5 months).

Last night and the previous night...he just WILL NOT SLEEP. He lays there and then screams to be picked up and stares at me for an hour sucking his thumb. I want to know what his deal is!

Holy schmoley! When did the new year happen  ack - it happened when I wasn't looking :? .

Had a good one with the LegoKing & other half - went to Dralion (Cirque de Soliel in town) & then burnt stuff at midnight    aka sparklers (Legoking likes shiny burney things).

Sweet - as Super says - B-a-b-y :P My LegoKing decided not to sleep until he hit 17months old - I can still remember the night it happend because I STILL got up 3 times to check on him :o  . It's called the "Joy of Parenthood"........ On a different front - teething????? for lack of sleep perhaps?

So...........I'm heading back into nocturnal land (ie bed at 2am & sleeping until 10am) with writing & general no working (of the paid kind). I was also spoilt with a belated dvd of Dr Horrible - the commentary is quite funny & the job of work to access the outakes is amusing in that pull-your-hair-out-go-to-the-computer-to-get-answers-kinda-way

Have LegoKing on a 36 hour stopover (I swear it feels like that) before he heads back to his dad's for another week. Then he is back to us..........with 3 or is it 4 Blizzard games to play (& we now have 3+1 free demos of world of warcraft.... :? )

Cool. But what is the picture from. And the quote. It all seems so familiar, from a movie or TV show or something. Maybe I shall have to google it.

TVVVVVVVV!!!!! It's fantastic to see you! How was the wedding? Are you married good and proper now?

It's great to see everyone this New Year. Hellos to Glori, Nat, Lone, Nora (cynical as ever, which is why we love you), Sweet and Tony.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've actually gotten sucked into the world of fanfic. I offered to edit one story, and I'm now up to editing four stories for two different authors. It's taking a lot of my time, but I love it. I'm a natural born editor. I like to take someone else's work and make it bright and shiny. I keep calling myself a back seat writer. I don't want to write myself; I just want to tell others how to do it. ;)

Val, if you ever get beyond bored (& out of the twilight world     ) you can more than backseat drive my books LMAO!!!!!

Hmmmm...........I've gone from attempts at sloth-dom (which, with 100+ days here & no relief is easy to desire & aim to achieve) to being BUSY  . So very rude really. In summer. Bah.

Actually a friend asked me to help out so for 5 wks am working half days on 3 days a week as their memberships person. The person away is doing a serious writing bootcamp called Clarion (yes, if it rings bells the US holds a couple too). Plus of course, it wasn't simple. Over that 5 wks, LegoKing will resume school (Grade 10 :o ) & that also crashes into another bout of jury duty - it's like some disease I can't escape......

Oh & I've developed an disturbing liking of of Dr Horrible. My other half procured a DVD to be shipped out & the more I watch/hear it the more it grows on me (we don't have the hulu freebie option - that is only Stateside). Not to mention the commentary that is all musical - where ALL the cast & writers sing.......

Really.....it's not healthy...............but then again I can think of worse things to obsess over.............

It's -7 degrees right now outside. I am so layered that I am waddling :( It's hard to get anything done when you can barely move!! I have to put on my husband's 'Nanuck of the North' down coat when I go outside so I have a coat that fits over the long johns and sweats. Sigh.

Oh, for a plane ticket and time off. I knew we never should have moved East. The temp here is currently -1, which is one degree up from when I started making coffee.

VL that'd be my way of coping - never leaving the house!

I will concede an Ack! :o for the COLD-ness (but I'd still prefer to be cold over hot any day, says she who is suffering from a case of sunburn whilst gardening :? ).

SQUEEEEEE! We are above zero today :D .....but we got 6 inches of snow. Should I be a good wife and go outside and help hubby with the snowblowing? Hmmmmmmmm.

I got back from Florida last Tuesday night and I have a lovely tan but the problem with having a tan in Michigan right now is that no one will ever know when I got out. Let's see....it's the coat, the turtle neck, the hat, the glasses and the scarf....you'd have to get in my face and look at the tip of my nose to see the bronziness  BTW...I am not a sun worshipper at all. I have on sunscreen #450, glasses, hat and UV protected beach umbrella that I sit under. I get the glare off the sand.

I swear Nora.....I am so coming to California when Spirit does another cheap flight to L.A. so I can terrorize you in person!!!!!!!

Glori - I can take cold longer than I can take heat but I have been known toget a might psychotic after 3 months of cold :?

Dia - You made it before the end of January...barely, but you made it. I can relate to RL craziness. Happy belated New Year to you too.

Am I the only one currently burried under snow and ice with even more expected over the next two days. Glori or Nora or anyone who lives somewhere currently warm, please spend one day by a pool and think of me here freezing to death. Do it for me, please. Then come report back what it's like. I can live vicariously.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, snowed in :o I'm so jealous!!!!! It's currently in the high 80s with matching humidity (I HATE the humidity). But my city is lucky. Those in Adelaide (the city on the bottom, but in the middle where a 'bite' has been taken) is currently sitting on 115 degrees (that'd be mostly dry, desert heat rather than my personal subtropical, humid hell).

Val, I'm not game enough to get near a pool - that'd be sun exposure (I live in one of the highest skin cancer rate states in the world  ). Rather, going to the equivalent of your shopping malls aka airconditioning - kinda works (what with people populating it).

LegoKing is back at school in this heat - with no aircon :?

Dia, glad you got here. Woo hoo :D

hey Val!!! it hasn't been so much rl craziness thou I've had some of that too.. it's been the board.. it wouldn't accept my password and when I tried to get my password it wouldn't send me a new one.. and then it blocked me.. and then I tried to email Matt and the email wouldn't send.. the board hated me :P it finally finally finally after many tries generated a new password for me and I'm here again.. yay :P

hey Glori.. how's it going?

Dia - Are you sure it was the board? Maybe Matt was sitting around giggling like a fiend watching you try desparately to login while he kept kicking you back out again. It sounds like something he might do. ;)
