Myth, if I could I would blow all this frickin heat over to you. That state that had the huge bushfires - TOTAL fire ban again due to expected 150km winds (heading to cyclonic/hurricane type intensity wind).....all dry. That state has been burning for the whole of February. Meanwhile, my state has about 55% under water...still  . My city - we are on another heatwave of high temps (in the 90s) & higher humidity  .

Please, take it. Over it here.....I want my brain back please :?

So...............how is everyone else doing? Has Spring sprung for you lot yet? I want autumn dammit (even if I live in a state with no sense of seasonal changes.....except that I purposely put a liquid amber tree in my backyard so for a nanosecond I can see the leaves change colour <---tends to be Monty Pythonesque the way they change  )

Glori- We get hot and humid in the summer but obviously not like you peeps Downunder. **Shudders** The weather sounds absolutely awful. I'll let you keep the heat. I find that I can survive the frigging cold as long as I can bitch about it. I am a total mess in the summer when the temp goes over 90 and the humidity goes anywhere from 80 to 95% I turn into absolute mush. My idea of great weather is 60 degrees all year round. Do you know a place? I don't know what your AC bill is but I bet it is frightening.

I'm cold, overly wrapped up in warm clothes and working on taxes. Damn I am bitchy!!

To totally freak you out Myth......I don't have aircon  :o  . The house I live in is called a Queenslander - it's a very open style (my living room only has one decent wall) which means we can't block off rooms for aircon. Oh & add in about 15' ceilings too (ie HEAPS of air space  ). Why do we stay? Well a)mortgage is bearable, b)was my Nana's house (though given her penchant for real estate wheeling & dealing....) & c) it is so inner suburb I'd be nuts to sell  !!! However, if there is ANY penchant for a breeze to be around - we catch it (though doesn't help with the humidity....which doesn't break just cause that big yellow orb in the sky has gone to bed). Having said that - I find going in/out of aircon not good for migraines - so staying out of the aircon isn't as mad as it sounds...... :?

This may explain my general mush for brains...........winter in this city lasts a nanosecond aka if I'm lucky 3 weeks LMAO!

I'm with you on the ideal locale. Yet to hear of it.....though Hobart (on the little island just below Oz mainland) is quite nice - generally speaking.

I'd prefer to be cold than hot - you can always find ways to warm up; there are only so many ways to keep cool.

The one Aussie summer I spent in Melbourne was hotter than what I'm used to in Ohio, but nowhere near as humid. It was much more bareable for me in Mel. than here in Ohio since it was a dryer heat. I didn't feel suffocated by humidity.

Currently getting annoyed by the random temp changes. It'll go from being 70 to 7 and up again in a week and it's been doing it for about 3 weeks now. I'm ready for winter to be over with!

Happy March, everybody.

March has come in like a lion here in Virginia. I love when the winds whip by my house and make me want to flee to the basement. But they are wusses when it comes to snow. Even my California-raised self thinks that the 2 hour delay when there is no snow on the ground is a bit excessive. And we cancel school for 2 inches of snow because?... Oh well.

Sure hope that the weather turns warm soon. I am tired of cold... particularly when it's just cold and there's not enough snow to make a decent snow mouse.

I'm definitely ready for the weather to stabilize somewhat. Which is kinda an impossibility in Kentucky but here is hoping. Really just ready to get over being sick. Feels like my head is full and makes me want to sleep all the time.

It's going to be 60 with sunshine today. SQEEEEEEEE :D :D :D :D :D I was going to sneak out and see WATCHMEN today but then I heard on the news that it is 2 hours and 41 minutes long.... I am so antsy and happy about the warm weather today that I won't be able to sit that long so instead I am going outside and do a little raking and yard pick up. I MUST BE ONE WITH THE EARTH TODAY!!!!!! It's a 'thing' that overwhelms me when the warmer comes. I just took a shower, did my hair (I must say that I look stunning :? ) and now I will put on clean but grubby clothes and get DIRTY!!!!! Can't wait.

I did take some time to watch THE VIEW today.....Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Nathan Fillion. Yum.

My cousin called early this morning to let me know that U2 was doing a concert on the Fordham University campus. I missed it. Damn. My daughter graduated from there and it would have been nice to see the campus again...so beautiful.

Ramones: Re the VIEW. Yep. I love Whoopi and I will watch if they have someone on I would like to see. I usually listen to CNN but I can't too much news these days. We had thunderstorms Saturday and winds last night. Wednesday looks bad for high winds. I HATE high winds!! I stay awake at night listening to the house shake and then wake up to some kind of damage outside!! I am so sorry about the your son. Needless to say the prayers have been there and will continue. An email is coming....I promise!!!

Curiosity question - what time do you get The View? We actually get it not too far behind as the Nathan & Jeffrey show was yesterday :o However, here it is on at 1pm - followed by one of the long running soaps......

Weather is cooling down - only cause we have a category 4 (thankfully downgraded from category 5 [yes, that was Katrina level]) cyclone (Hamish) about 200km (approx. 120miles) north of my city. A break from the humidity is good, hoping that Hamish stays off the coast & doesn't re-intensify is wished for!

I'm ba-ack! It was great after all this time to look at the list of members and still see so many familiar names. And from what I've read, you guys are still writing some funny, thoughtful stuff. I have a little more time on my hands now, so I hope to exchange some good old-fashioned idiocy with you here. (Now if I can just remember how to get my avatar back up).
