Without spoiling anything, 14's very, very Whedon. You'll see what I mean...

I love Buffy's new relationship. Very unexpected but awesome. I also loved SMG's response to it when Seth Green told her about it. Very amusing.
I'm really glad I started frequenting SlayAlive.com or else I would not have known to read Tales of the Vampires before Dracula came in S8. Highly amusing, and a very interesting storyline.
And yes, issue 14 is VERY Whedon. Damn that man. But I wouldn't love Buffy as much as I do if he wasn't the way he is.
Yep, poor Xander can't catch a break. I can see where Fray's scythe is going to come into play now. I CAN'T WAIT for that issue.

#14 was awesome. Ol' Drac has been great comic relief since he showed up. Xander can't keep a girlfriend alive -- I'm kind of glad I hadn't got emotionally invested in her. Buffy/Satsu story....still unsure about. I mean, I get what Joss/Drew are doing, and yet I don't.
Anyway, loved the issue, love the comic book series in general.

Enjoying each and every one. Still unsure about Buffy/Satsu, get it but not sure of the motive behind it...we'll see.
SPOILER for 14 - I keep coming back to Goddard having giant monster issues. Maybe Cloverfield got to him in the end. Between Dawn, Tokyo & all the little head pictures of the G lizard......
Also unsure about the Giles using Faith. Seems a little harsh for Giles (not Ripper) if that makes sense, particularly in light of Season 7. But will wait & see how that plays out.
Oooooh, aaaaah on Buffy & Fray with scythes, scythes, everywhere

Gack, Glori, I didn't even think about the Goddard/Dawnzilla thing until you mentioned it. I rented Cloverfield tonight and am going to watch it this weekend. Loved that moment, and I rarely have the Dawn love...

Wow.... Buffy.... wow.
And Dracula thing is really cool. Sucks about Renee though.
wow... Buffy ... wow...
How was she in the sack?
The Dawn thing was cool and I rather enjoyed everyone showing up inside or outside Buffy's room, plus Dracula's comment of Oh Balls.
I do like Satsu's attitude of I'm not listening to you Buffy. But it seemed to come out of left field, but I think she is trying to find a connection and Satsu was a way to do that. Of course this season has been a bit confusing for me, around the Willow/Buffy flying trip.
I'm reading this as trade paperbacks. I liked the first one. Haven't gotten the second one yet.

Unless it's going to come back later on, the whole Faith four-parter seemed like filler. In fact, the who second trade seemed to add almost nothing to the overall storyline. They weren't bad stories, mind you, but they could have been left on the cutting room floor so to speak.

I reckon Faith and Giles for that matter aren't done yet (given whose verse it's in ).
On Mech......Goddard has issues........MONSTER size issues (even my other half was in awe at the references - which btw I didn't get I'm not that huge a geek LMAO).
I loved the Buffy Willow conversation - you know the one I mean .
Whoda thunk Xander would have Drac :?.
Joss is doing the next one......

I gotta admit I was never that big of a fan of Goddard's work on BtVS, but this was my favourite arc yet.
The dying thoughts of Renee drawn in POV were particularly effective. (Mecha Dawn was just silly though, sorry)

I'm repressing Mecha Dawn (but then I'm also trying to repress Cloverfield too).
Goddard was interesting in a featurette on the complete box BtVS set (here it's a red box).
Woody I too was not a Goddard fan in either Buffy or Angel (I think from vague memory of abovementioned talkfest it was Noxon who brought Goddard on board).

So far loving loving loving it! I agree that Goddard's run was the best one yet and I practically peed my pants when I saw Fray would be in the next issue. Though that one has huge potential of being really really stupid...or truly amazing. I have enough faith in them that I'm almost positive it'll be the latter. Now if only Buffy's lesbian experiments were in an earlier season...I wanna see that shit on screen, baby! You couldn't think of that sooner???
Nobody rocks the cock like Krysta Now. And I mean Nobody!
This is just the best comic ever...it's the first one I read each month, and not for nostalgic reasons, and I continue to be amazed. There is not a single ongoing series (that I'm reading at least) that is better than this right now, it's fantastic. Plus, this is my favourite season since 5. I think it's because of the new medium, that it's the writers' pure stories and there's nothing to fuck it up, it just lost that tired feeling of the later seasons. Originally, when I (and I think many others) heard the series was gonna continue this way, we thought of it as compromise (compramise? I'm not sure...) - even though I've been a comic fan way before I became a Buffy fan. But I'm glad to see they're grabbing this with all the hands they have and it definitely doesn't feel like less than it deserves. I haven't felt this way about Buffy in a long time. The Fray arc is just brilliant...I love that they've got Karl Moline. And what happens to Willow? How did she get that way??? AGAIN?
