Adam Baldwin cancelled again. I'm sad.

Well, when Jamie Bamber canceled they scheduled another BSG actor in his place. Maybe they'll do the same for Adam. I vote for Yvonne Strahovski.

Erica Durance canceled. She would have been Lois Lane #4 that I've met.

I just read Matt's piece on the homepage about James Marsters and the private dinner at Dragon Con. It's a shame about Adam Baldwin not attending but I don't think it was because the DragonCon peeps concentrated on setting things up for Marsters. I am quite sure it was his agent. Marsters' fans have probably been requesting another meet and greet and the timing was good for this. I am also quite sure that the second the tickets go on sale that there will be a 'sell out' immediately and it will be the same fans that attend every one of his meet and greets. Honestly....they come from all the around the country and fly over from England. It's about seeing Marsters but also about being with each other for a good time. A very close knit fandom despite distance. Still, it blows my mind that so many will purchase flight tickets, pay lodging and then ticket costs for 3 hours just to see JM.

JM is bringing along one of the actors from TORCHWOOD who will attend the dinner as well. I'm beginning to wonder if JM will have more guest appearances on TORCHWOOD for the new season since they killed off 2 of the regular people last season.
Some days its not even worth chewing through the restraints.

Myth - My source on the Marsters/Baldwin situation works on staff alongside the guys choosing the guests and working with the guests to accommodate them. He is a highly accurate source....one of my only ones. So if he says there was a problem with who was being babied and who wasn't, I tend to believe him.

On a side note, don't you find it a tad ridiculous that these people are willing to pay $150 so that they can pretend that James Marsters cares about them....seriously? I'm not saying the guy is an asshole or anything, I'm just saying, if he cared he would either a) use the dinner money for charity or b) not charge at all. But it's all money at D*C. The guy makes money for being there, for photographs, for autographs, for how many panels he does in a single weekend....why not ADD to all that cash by getting 60 people to blow another wad of hard-earned money to watch him eat some BBQ and play a song or two? It's friggin' absurd.

It may be absurd, but I guarantee that if I went to Marsters' table when the con started, they would be a line. And it would be 99% women who would pay $150 for Marsters just to spit on them. Marsters knows that, that's why he's doing this. He walks away with an extra $9,000 in his pocket for a couple hours work.

I guess the DC peeps will gofor the actor that will draw more fans and more money.

It does blow my mind about the money JM's fans pay to see him and they probably do go in debt. But as I said before, each meet and greet is like a family reunion to these gals.....and they have fun. As far as Marsters is concerned, he has to make the money when he can since he has sole responsibility for 2 kids. It will be interesting to see how DRAGONBALL does. I have no doubt that Marsters will play a good Piccolo but it won't help if the movie is a turkey.

Just a heads up, I'm gonna be in the 2nd showing of the Buffy Horror Picture Show as one of the minions. If you go to that one, I'll be the Reagan mask. 8-)

Cool!!! Does this mean that the D*C version went the way of the Volcon version with auditions and makeup and everything?
You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!

Well, I'm fairly certain the 1st showing is auditioned. It is fully costumed and rehearsed the most. The 2nd showing may be, but for me they had a last minute cancellation and needed somebody. I'm D*C friends (as in I hang with them each year for a bit) with one of the girls who's close to the Whedontrack staff and she got ahold of me when they couldn't find anybody else, knowing that I usually help out when I can. Costumes are preferred/recommended for the 2nd showing but not really required. Not like the first one. And the 3rd showing (yes, they are all one right after the other, and all usually full) is very laid back. I don't even know if they have costumes at all.

They're also doing a Dr. Horrible before the 1st showing of the BHPS. I can't wait to see that one!

The Pocket Program is online. Updates can be found at The Daily Dragon online.

Also, NBC has asked that all Heroes guests be removed from any panel discussions. They will still be there signing autographs, though.

That's weird. I know they don't want them to stay anything about the upcoming season, but that seems a little odd.

Maybe they don't want anyone asking Hayden Whatsherface about her dad smacking her mom around. :P

I can see the costume now, a cheerleader all beaten and bloody.

Hayden: "Wow, that's a great version of Claire after she jumped off of that watertower."

Fan in Costume: "No, this is Claire after she talked back to her dad."
