Tell me about the heat! we are in the triple digits and expected to be there all darn week long.
Hope all is well. This week the spawn begin back at school. I am nervous and relieved.
Hope all are safe and sound. Take Care and keep cool.
So want to see the bourne movie this week. I think I might sneak out for a mid day movie and beat the heat!

YAY! An August thread!!!!! B)
August is the best month of the year!!!!! :woohoo:
I'm so ready to go home and clean my house. Isn't that sad? I's actually rather be cleaning at home then at work today!!

Ramones - You lucky duck! Elizabeth's school doesn't start until August 27th. And Ryan doesn't return to preschool until September 5th! I may be barking mad by then. By the way, Bourne is excellent...lots of action, no boring middle parts.
TV - You'd rather be cleaning? Would you like to come over to my house? ;)
Nora - Mean, RSVPing, non-actually-coming people really do suck! You have my sympathies. Maybe you can make a shrimp salad?
Myth - It's been stinkin' hot here too. Today was the first day in over 2 weeks that I let my kids outside before 7:30 pm! Exercise is good for kids, but heat stroke, not so much.

Nora - I want your recipe!!
I'm thinking of a career change.....I want to be a Meterologist and have a job as the weather person on tv. They are rarely right here and yet thy get a great salary and no threat of being fired. Ideal job if you ask me!! Hot and icky for today with a cold front coming in.....if the forcast is right.

Hey, Seven! I hope you're all better now!
Nora - At least you survived the shrimp and didn't have to throw all that money in the trash! Hmmm... Why serve shrimp in the first place? I don't think I like anyone enough to actually spend that kind of money on them. What's wrong with pigs in a blanket? ;)
Myth - If you were a tv weather person, you'd have to be all perky. You don't really want that, do you?

Val - if I could gt a salary for being wrong 98% of the time....I could be sooooooooooooooooooooo perky:laugh: Just think, no repercussions and no malpractice suits:P

Hello, Nora. I am SO much better. My strength is almost all back and as soon as this horrific 100 degree heat dies, I can start my walking again.
Thanks, Valeri! It wasn't fun but it's nice to be done.
Heading out for lunch now. Hope all is well.

Just popping in to say hi to several folks I actually recognize. Seven, Nora, Val29! It's like going to a high schoo reunion.
Val, I am so glad to see your voice. Our kids are incredibly close in age, it would seem, as I remember your being pregnant with the first one when I was with mine.
Now that life has settled in Fall (ish) I can drop by more often.
Natasha

Myth - I guess you do have a point...big money + little responsibility does equal easily done perky, doesn't it? LOL!
Nat! Great to see you! I'm right there with you on the back to school euphoria. My daughter starts second grade in one week (she's 7 now). Unfortunately, my son's preschool doesn't begin until after Labor Day. His teacher actually called me yesterday to set up a home visit before school starts. She asked with a note of sincere hope in her voice if his behavior had improved over the summer. She didn't seem too happy when I told her he was about the same. He's really not bad...he just has his own agenda and doesn't like following her rules very much. My contention is that he's four AND a boy AND the baby of the family AND has been raised at home with a mother and older sister who let him get away with a little too much, but only a little. How are your little ones doing?

Great to see you fella:woohoo:
Well...I researched 'rain dances' and did a few.......and now we have flooded roads, thriving weeds in one day and my sons are pissed because the grass greww 4 inches overnight:blink: Ah, the power of a rain dance....who knew:whistle:
I planned on taking a trip to N.C. to visit EMums in December. I told my cousin Missy that she is going (newly divorced and depressed) and now it seems that my other cousin wants to come. My friend Pam will drive from Knoxville and meet us there. Oh poor EMums....the rampant wild ones are coming your way:P Can't wait to show up at her church dressed like the Pussycat Dolls:evil:
Hey....if this trip works out, then next it's California and Nora:woohoo: :woohoo:

Myth - You really don't know your own strength, do you? We have rain here too! Are you responsible for Hurricane Dean?
Wretch! It's lovely to see you! How have you been?
As you can see, I'm stuck in mommy-hell. But I love my kids...and they only drive me slightly insane. :woohoo: This emoticon is labled \"woohoo\", but it looks like I feel after I find my son has discovered a long forgotten highlighter (pink, by the way) and drawn on the walls. LOL!

Hey, Lone! It's good to see you! I'm good...just wish this 90 degree weather would take a break. Even with air conditioning, it's too hot to even move in the afternoons! I hope you're doing well.
Wretch - I'm sorry about the work sitch. I hope you get something new soon.
Well, I'm off to write a letter to H2 and his wife. Yes, I'm actually writing a letter...envelope, stamp, the whole nine yards. It's not something I do often anymore, but I promised them the latest pics of the kids. I know, I could send those via computer as well. I guess I'm just an old fashioned girl. Oh and I'm trying to procrastinate on cleaning the house. B)

Hey ozgirl! I feel your pain on the waterheater. My old one just died a few weeks ago and we had to replace it. My house is getting to the age where everything starts to break all at once.
And yes, I'm still procrastinating about cleaning my house.

I recall replacing a water heater in the mid-90s; I joined Sam's Club just because it was the only way I could afford one. The old one had so much lime buildup it was too heavy to remove so it just stayed there next to the nw one until the house went up. Good luck with yours.
I just read at msn.com that Weekly World News is ceasing publication.

Hmmm..lessee if this shows where it's supposed to...
O Great King Richard the Wretched Doc Furious Rosemary's Baby *deep bow*
Suddenly the world makes much more sense now that I know you were at least partly responsible for the Weekly World News. Dang it, I would have been a faithful reader. It was good enough for Fox Mulder, it called out to me. What can I say, Clueless is my middle name.
*sly smile* I still have a picture of you and your very, um, impressive piece of equipment in my email archives. Geez, that was back from when the registered users here were in single digits. I hope that piece is still getting good use. I recall Flesh for the Beast, do I need to rest more to see you whip it out?
I'm feeling a *weg* coming on, may as well go with it.
Apologies for my absence here the past, oh, three years. I wasn't feeling amusing. But I'd love to try again.
Thanks, Ramones, for the well-needed hug. I hope it was still fresh, since I didn't come back for a month to collect it.
Speaking of, is there a closet in here where a RileyBot might be lurking to pour us a round of blood red wine and see who shows to imbibe? Hmmm....
Hey, DCA;)

Hey Guys and Gals! :)
Just thought I'd make a quick pop up and see how everyone was.
I'm going to be in Atlanta starting on Thursday evening for Dragon*Con once again. If any of you all are showing up, let me know.
We're working on our newest project over at good ol' Black Swan. The newest thing is our web series called \"Life with Jason\", which you can catch here: http://www.lifewithjason.com/
The premise goes something like this: Jason Voorhees (from Friday the 13th fame, obviously) has let himself go, but not only that, he needs to find a roommate, because he's run out of money. Enter Sara, a no-nonsense tough college student. The weird thing about Sara is that she can understand Jason (as we know, Jason doesn't speak). Anyway, hilarity ensues...or at least attempted hilarity. Find out for yourself. The first episode premiered today. You can find it at the website address I posted above or at http://www.revver.com/ and type \"life with jason\" in the search.
