Tonight's episode 1/21/07.

Welcome back BSG!! So, who do you think the surprise cylon is? Adama? Madam President?? It would be a hoot if it was Saul Tigh because of his burning hatred of the Cylons. They all hate the Cylons, but not like Saul. Decent episode. Goodbye Xena and hello Starbuck's secret destiny. I REALLY dislike the Apollo/Starbuck coupling and their mess of a marriage to the other two. It's boring and drags down the series IMHO.

Indeed. The Apollo-Starbuck thing makes me cringe, though I loved Kara's paintings on the wall. Is SHE the cylon? I started to reason out who she would have met along the way while she was on New Caprica or during her time on the ship that would have made her apologize for something she did in the past (note, she said, I'm sorry. If I had known, I would never or something like it). Going to review the shows to see who she interacted with!

Seven- It may not be any kind of interaction...it could have been an act that affected the outcome of things in the past. Who knows. I so love a mystery:woohoo:

I don't thin Kara is the cylon. Too obvious after this last episode.

Those of us who watched  the preview for the next episode have a good idea of who the Cylon is.

I liked this episode esp Dee rescuing Starbuck. Include me on the list of those who do not want to have Apollo/Starbuck fraternization as part of the story line.

I am sad to see L.L. leave the show. I thought she was the hottest lady on the show but my real reason is that I liked the Cylon she portrayed and felt she added a lot to the depth and range of the Cylon personality types.

The baby better stay with Mommy! I am surprised they were so ready to assume their Sharon was the one to return. I would have been suspicious of a switch since the various Sharons are identical.

Post edited by: Fogey, at: 2007/01/23 21:57

It's definitely sad to see LL go. She definitely brought some dynamics into the cylons. Ah cold storage perfect for this cold winter weather :P

Next week ep should be good. I have to remember that it is on Sundays now

You know what? Kara is the cylon. I'm going to say it. I'm sticking to it, too.

Well....that would make things very interesting. I'm sticking with Saul. If I'm right, you send me roses. If you're right, then I will come down and cause you great bodily harm. Nora can watch:evil:

Hmmmmm.........I was actually bored a bit with last night's episode. The focus on the marriages and 'love' mess is not interesting at all to me. It's actually a distraction. I wonder if fans on a BSG forum are liking or not liking it.

I need to ask this....WTH is going on with Gaius???? Is the guy just plain nuts???? I need some opinions here on him and his role in the series?????
Fogey6 posts in this thread

I am with Myth on the marriage story lines.

Gaius might be nuts? Why ? Because he hallucinates about having an affair with a blond hottie? :woohoo:

I think he could be nuts but alternatives exist.

Mental talks with Blondie could be the result of an implant by the Cylons perhaps biological or psychological so that it is not detectable when he goes through the airport/spaceport metal detector? The visions of her could also be a stress coping mechanism that renders him a functioning psychotic who can get along (somewhat) in society despite his mental imbalance.

His mental state lets him deny his complicity in the Cylon actions and also lets him indulge in a fantasy life where things are more to his liking. I suspect a lot of his fellow surviving Colonials are indulging in escapism and denial. But overall I think Gaius has lost it despite being able to function in two societies.

Wonder if the Cylons have a different definition of insanity than the Colonials?

He makes for a high profile collaborator which is a semi-classic story line to include in an apocalyptic saga about war and the destruction of a civilization. Examining his actions and motives while contrasting them to the so called sane Colonials and to the Cylons makes for an interesting exploration of motives and questioning of the difference between right and wrong.

Hmm starting to meander here so I may not make sense.

Episode 3/4/07

Interesting ep. I may have to admit (grumble) that Seven is right and Kara is the Cylon...unless this was a \"Normal Again' tupe episode. I'm just thrilled that Callum Keith Rennie was a major part of the episode.

Heh, I'm no longer convinced that Kara is a Cylon. Here's what someone at work pitched to me as the \"big secret\" behind all of this. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is a Cylon. The current 12; however, are the second generation.

The 13th colony that left for Earth created them all and gave them the ability to pro-create, which the inate knolwedge of the colonials led them to create their own synthetics but did not give them the ability to pro-create.

Why do I think he's right? Because of the statement that keeps coming up - this has happened before and it will happen again. Both the colonials and the new cylons are drawn to Earth because they're BOTH their creators.

What do you think?

Kara's destiny suddenly makes sense to me when I think of it that way...

ARE THERE ANY HUMANS LEFT ANYWHERE???????? Interesting theory. Since next week starts the Baltar 'stuff', I bet that Kara disappears for quite some time.

So....what is Kara's destiny??? To reveal all this?? Come on, spoon feed me:P

If it is an all Cylon show why don't the Colonials also have a place that they download to so they can be reconstituted? & why don't the non-Colonial Cylons also have kids running around like the Colonials do?

I can't imagine Kara is gone - so 1. she could indeed be a Cylon who gets rebuilt or 2. The Cylons caught her again just before her ship went kaboom or 3 um er everyones a Cylon exceptin us 13th colony folk?

Fogey - you're a Cylon....we've known for quite some time now!!

So basicly what we could be watching is....Cylons battling Cylons. Once again....spoon feed me.

Seven - I was bored too. The relationship eps and now the trial prep eps are...bleh! I thought last week with Kara and Leoben was good. Love Leoben and think he is a fine fine match for Kara. We should see more of them....I hope.

You didn't answer my question...you bum. Please check above.

They were over on aintitcool.com. They're biggies though. I almost wish I hadn't read them, though. They'll kill the massive surprise next week.

And, um, FoGAY?

I thought this episode was a little better than the last

Chalk me up as another person who misses Kara.
I don't mind a little character development and I can see possibilities for future conflict in some of these character developments so I can ride the trial out. But I don't think the verdict will result in Baltar's death so the trial lacks drama where I am concerned. Heck it is a better trial than what I saw of the one on Lost

And, um, FoGAY?

An inadvertant slip. She possibly had me confused with the French Romance author Fo GAY - you know the author of that trashy Victorian Romance pulp \"Of Myth and Men\" :P

Post edited by: Fogey, at: 2007/03/20 23:41

Foo Goo Guy Pan yet another way to say FoGAY :woohoo:

7 you can't believe anything that has its roots in a Myth.

So how long till we see Kara again? Will she return? The show lost a lot when she splashed.

Do they have a set length they want to run the series? One that will resove the story line within a designated season?

Post edited by: Fogey, at: 2007/03/21 04:20

Eight - I went to that site and couldn't find the spoilers...ROTFLMAO!! I briefly looked at the forum but didn't read much.... I want to be surprised.

Finale - Um....erm....um:blink: We were looking for 'one' and now we have four. Does this mean that we are still looking for the 'one'? Any bets??

Besides the four....did you notice anyone else affected by the music? The only character that was affected in some fashion was Madame President. Thinking back...she was cured from her cancer before with the injection of fetal blood/fluid. I forgot what she was injected with.

It was a bit freaky the way the four all ended up in the same room around the lit square. So does this mean the ship is Cylon????

Told ya Saul was a Cylon. **Snap**

Do you think Six knew Saul was a Cylon?

Still think Kara could be one?? She has a connection to Leoben. And damn....the way she looked at Lee at the end was freaky.

Um...erm...um:blink:

Great, great episode. I rewatched it on VOD last night. I am not convinced that the four are Cylons. And I'm especially not convinced that Kara's one now. The stomach punch for me was that S4 won't be until 2008. HOWEVER, we do get the Pegasus movie in the fall!!!

The bottom sank out of my stomache when they said 2008 :S

We saw the music affecting Six but what about Athena?

I thought the music was a trigger device to awaken sleeper agents however Seven may be right to doubt the're really Cylon. I also agree that Kara is probably not one.

Better episode than I expected from listing review in the paper.

Are they setting up to find Earth in season 4 and wrap up the story? Are we working under a false assumption in thinking Earth is the lost tribe/colony? Wouldn't it be a kick if in this reincarnation of BSG it turned out otherwise.

I was just getting back into BSG this season, and I didn't know that was finale til they announced the \"2008\" thing towards the end of the ep.. that was disappointing, but the ep was really good.

OK. I think that Kara didn't explode. Ron Moore was Deep Space Nine's lead guy. The Bajoran/Cardassian space station was placed strategically there because of the wormhole. I think Kara's \"explosion\" was actually a wormhole to Earth! I don't think it will be big enough to take the whole fleet there, but she got the path along the way...

Good guess Seven...makes sense. I read someplace that we shouldn't put too much into what we learn from the finale because the writers have a tendency to totally change everything the first couple of episodes into a new season.

Seven or anyone......... I am in season 3 now an i have a question......... Is Kacey Kara's child?

I know that she was reunited with her mom on the ship, but not sure if it is real.

If it isn't her child it makes sense why she was soooooo advanced in age over Hera.

Can someone email me at with the answer.

Aeryn, SORRY I didn't see your question. The answer is no, Kacey was a ploy by Leoben to mess with Kara's mind big time. Kara's path is very different...if you haven't gotten there already.
