Stillness of Mind

Twisting, burning pain inside my head
Sharks swimming inside my mind
My sanctuary has turned on me again
Sharp teeth digging into my brain

Eating at its flesh, I am drifting away
Falling under my minds tremulous waves
One arms breaks through the depths
As a familiar face brings me to the surface

Through the mugginess I saw you
My sweet Oleander-so deceptive
Dare I touch your petals?
Be engulfed by your poison

Staring at those eyes, those beautiful eyes
The madness seems to die a little
Sadness is born with a shrill helpless cry
I long to be cradled, but your not the mothering type

Confusion in both our eyes-mine is by madness
Yours is of memories, painful-pain-I tried to stop it–
I am lost, lost in an abyss, clinging to the edge
Nails digging into nothing, falling deeper still

Deep gashes tell the story, words etched upon my breast
You cannot read it, but you understand the fury
I tried to cut it-cut it out, tried to rid myself
Trapped like a mouse in a maze with no legs

Taunting me, taunting me like a puppet on jagged strings
Your touch startles me into some sort of reality
Examining my mutilation, your eyes widen
I cannot tell you, not yet, not yet, sweet flower

What you must think of me-this abomination
This half man-this thing-this disgust
Hair disheveled, cheeks deep in anguish
I love you, I love you, and I cannot take this madness!
