I got 4.5 hours to go........hopefully I'll make it without spontaneously combusting at my desk. :P

I need to find a new vocation. I just don't know what. :?

How goes it with you, VL?

My weekend is already here, I've had 2 cups of coffee and am working on my third. I finished one of the books I was reading last night and another this morning. I'm doin' all right!

How goes the 4.5 hour wait?

So far, so good. Checking out Yelp to see what's happening here for the 4th. Yelp's my only creative writing outlet right now, though sometimes I get the feeling they don't appreciate me like you guys do. :P I only have one "fan".

I don't know who that is. But if she reads my reviews and likes them, I'd appreciate the comments/UFC's. :P There are no usernames at Yelp, we all use our real first name. I had another fan, but she disappeared. Like, literally shut down her Yelp, MySpace, and Facebook and disappeared. It worries me. Not like I'm worried about you though, missy! Does your mom know what happened?

caramel macchiato sounds good... of course, so does wine. :P

And why in the name of all that is good are weddings so expensive??? Not talking gowns here - I'm talking photographers, finding a place to party, shite like that!

Fiat - soon as you mention the 'w' word it's a gazillion percent price increase .

Hippie what is Yelp? :? You have me all curious.

To all the US of A-ians HAPPY 4TH of JULY enjoy your day.

I'm always amused that down here we use January 26 (landing of the Brits on soil etc) BECAUSE the real day of 'independence' (ie day the forefathers got around to signing paper) is January 1 ..... obviously can't celebrate then due to the massive national hangover from New Year's..........so they moved it down so there would be some sober level of observance.....   8-)

Happy 4th!!!! (I'm stuck at work.)

TV - LOL I tell ya, this is the only time in my life where I have found that WANTING to go to "my" church is going to cost me money. If we weren't starting from that point, we'd have a ton of other options open to us. Of course, I do keep mentioning that the church has a nice, fairly new hall that could be well decorated. (Not only is Otts iffy on that, my own parents consider it a "backup" plan.)

Glori - that's too blasted funny!

Fiatsy - as I told you, every time I think of that church hall I'm reminded of Father sitting in there in shorts and a baseball cap calling bingo for that fundraiser two years ago... :P

Besides, spending lots of money for a wedding is a patriotically North American (American, Canadian, take your pick) thing to do - consume and enrich the industry and all that. ;)

Happy Fourth, my American friends!

Takes a running leap at otts and knocks hims, tackle-hug-style, to the ground.

Didn't give you a proper greeting last time.

Fiat - thanks for letting me and Val tackle hug Otts without weird jealousy issues. Has happened before (over at the UPN Bronze). Anyway, about weddings, if you have friends with cameras or who are photographers, you could ask them to bring theirs in lieu of a wedding present. We did hire a photographer and I can't say I miss the formal photos. It saved time and money. And we still got some really awesome shots. All very candid and somehow the better for it. You could also go the disposable camera route, but then you wind up with 50 photos of people take pictures of each other taking pictures (seems to be a guy thing).

And yes, they bend you over and rape you once you mention the "W" word. Blood suckers, all of them.

Otts - anymore of those caramelly goodness coffee thingies?

Suuuuupes!!! :D *HUGS*

I forgive you even if you're crushing my ribs ;)

What I find annoying about the whole wedding planning adventure is that up to now we've managed to find *three* books for the groom... two of them dedicate 3/4 of the pointers to buying the ring, and the third one is "The Idiot's Guide to Being a Groom"

Guess I'll have to write the book myself.

Hmm. Books for the groom. My husband didn't even bother. Of course, I never bought a Bride's book and the one magazine I got was given to me. Then again, once we found the location (Children's Fairyland in Oakland, Calif.) it all fell into place. And David was very involved in the whole process. We planned it together all the way. Except for my dress, which was his one surprise.

All I can say, to both of you, is enjoy the ride because 9 years from now you'll look back on the planning phase and think it funny and part of the overall adventure. Yes, even the stressy parts. And the most important thing to remember is: It's All About YOU! Your day, your love, your life. Screw everyone else.

I obviously meant that figuratively. :D

Doing well, doing well. Moved to the East Coast (Virginia, specifically), now have two little rugrats (girsl 5 & 3), and working perhaps just a little to hard managing a pub.

Thanks for asking.

Hope everyone in the US had a good 4th! We almost got rained out but it let up just long enough to get the fireworks in. YAY! We watched from the door of the pub (which is in a hotel so there were, like, 50 to 60 of us). Wish I had a picture.

The nice thing about it was that it was already decorated. They have lights in the trees and everything. Plus, we were the first to rent the entire park for a wedding so we got for something like $100 an hour. Suckers! It was awesome. I'll try post some memory lane pix for ya. Ooo! We even kept the little electric train open.
