After last night's debacle, now it's certain that Contreras is not Yankee material. Doesn't have the confidence to face good teams. I think it's time for Cashman to trade him. Maybe get some prospects and turn those prospects around for Johnson. If not then trade him to the Phillies for Millwood. At least, he has some playoff experience when he was with the Braves. I think Contreras will fare much better in the NL where there are plenty of weak hitting teams

On the bright side though, still in first. El Duque is ready to go, and Brown will be back this weekend. Of course a rotation of Johnson, Brown, Mussina, Vazques and El Duque looks very cool Cool, but i'll be happy with Millwood as well though

What this team need is a few games that we are blowing out the opponent to give that bullpen a rest. It's time for some offensive firepower. Twisted Evil Suspensions are coming soon on Wed. Johnson trade might or might not happen on Wed as well because of doctors and stuff.

On General baseball front news, the Expos are close to leaving Montreal and settling down in Washington DC leaving Toronto as the only non-american team. I think MLB should head down Mexico or Puerto Rico way Wink Twisted Evil Cool

It's no fun if you can't crush the Bosox in the playoffs Twisted Evil

The Mets look like they are fading fast. Letting Montreal score 19 runs Shocked. They are looking more like sellers than buyers now. I was hoping for another subway series Wink

I know, bnut Qua-Go-Mo are #1,2, and 3 in appearances. Those three need a rest for a while. I think that;s why Qua and Mo are right now a bit tired. The offense needs to pick it up, but also the starting pitchers as well. They need to go deeper in the game.

I heard about A-Rod appealing, but MLB hasn't suspended anyone yet from the brawl. I think that will happen on Wed.

The lying of age though comes from either the Dominicans and Cubans. I wonder how old Pedro really is hmmm...... Laughing Laughing Of course, you remember Danny Amonte. perfect example even if he is a little leaguer Laughing Laughing Laughing

Our starters really need to last past 6 innings which hasn't been happening

LOL I wonder how old El Duque is also LOL

BYW: Have Santeria friends making "Get Randy Johnson Mojo Bags" for everyone...Yeah even Voodo Priest are Yankee fans...I'm dead serious.
It's a pouch I'm gonna be given Thursday at sunset. They don't believe he'll be traded until the last possible second of the deadline. The pouch has to be placed against the skin and not removed until an anouncement is made about him. They are only giving them to fanatical fans like me who is willing to not shower until an anouncement is made. Once the pouch makes contact with the skin of a true believer (1 who truly believes we WILL get RJ) it must remain on the skin to provide the power to supply the mojo used to will this event to happen.

....Whatever...if it will get us RJ..and I'll try ANYTHING once...(I got edible panties that even say that)

A lot of conflicting reports going on regarding RJ. Latest one from Peter Gammons at ESPN says that the Dodgers could be the team to pull it off Shocked I hope that you are right with the FoxNews report because i'm not liking what is going with the starting rotation with El Duque getting hurt in the 2nd with a hamstring injury. Need rotation help and fast

With hours until the trade deadline, a NY team has finally made a move to get a pitcher. The Mets traded for two pitchers today. They first got the most coveted pitcher out there, not named Randy Johnson that is, in Kris Benson and they also got Victor Zambrano from the Devil Rays.

Now if the other NY team start to make a good move then i'll be happy.

Prayers out to Yankee 1B Jason Giambi who has been diagnosed with a benign tumor. Hope he gets well soon.

The first trade deadline have passed. The Big Unit was not traded and is now stuck in the desert. Someone give that pitcher some water. Of course the Bronx Bombers made a trade by getting rid of Contreras and in return getting Loaiza. Semi decent pitcher who was a 21 game winner last year but doing ok this year. I guess anything is better than Contreras. Anyway Contreras might flourish in Chitown where the pressure is less. Also they are close to signing John Olerud.

The biggest news suprisingly is coming from Boston with an end of an era ending there. Nomar is gone and is now a Cub. Shocked Never saw that coming. Thought he will end the year as a Sox and then become a Yankee later Razz Big hit offensivley but an upgrade defensively as they got Cabrera from the Expos and Mienkeivitc from the Twins.

New pitcher didnt help the Metskis last nights as they fall to the Braves.

Wretch - yeah, but this is the third time in a row that the Braves have seen Benson so they were due. Also, i think that he has to get used to Piazza being his catcher so new signs and stuff to learn and the pressure of being in the wild card race is new to him as well. Give him time and he might be good.

Also now that MSG and FoxSports net has been pulled from Time Warner Cable. No more Mets programming here or Knicks, or Rangers for the time being untile there is a new contract. Fortunately, the YES Network is on the air Very Happy

Wretch - they can still make the wild card. They just need to get it together. It didn't help that they were facing the Cards this weekend.
