Okay, so in the most recent episode of Life on Mars there is a wonderful, wonderful rap moment. I started to explain it, but it just doesn't do it any justice. Let's just say it involves Vanilla Ice. Was classic and had me rollin'. I tried to find a link, but no luck. It's on ABC.com.

Hey Nat and all. I'm still around. Just finishing up my cold (it's been a bitch) and moving into yet more insomnia (staying up until 3:30 am instead of only til 1:30). Am so exhausted I can no longer think. I just wanted everyone to know that I still love ya. By the way, I feel like this right now. :shock: Because if I didn't force my eyes open like this, I'd be asleep.

Brrrr. 'Tis a chilly, chilly day here in the Old Dominion.

For those of you that get it :? we've had a storm (last Sun) hit my city that has left a number of suburbs look like your tornado alley. It was "Just a Severe Thunderstorm" aka a bitchin hot, humid day with a helluva storm at the end - damage is not dissimilar to Cyclone Larry. My home is fine (live on the other side of the city) but geez, what a way to bring in summer (& we're expecting more storms today & tomorrow *sigh*)

Will be unemployed in a fortnight & part of me is very very happy to have the break (the other part wishes it knew where the next souce of income is).

Other than that - we are being inundated with celebrites doing their various plugs/releases aka getting away from the cooling northern hemisphere weather :lol: .

I meant that in the same way I say "Mr. Bush". :lol: Did you ever see him MTV in 2000? They were doing a flashback best-of show. It was him, Janeane Garafalo, Ben Stiller and one other person (who I can't remember). They were razzing him at one point and I thought he was gonna hurt someone. I guess he didn't like being on the one-hit wonder list.

Glori - so sorry about the weather. I have a friend who is leaving for Australia in a few weeks (for the holidays). Her sister (lives in Sydney) has said the weather has been quite erratic and eery.

Super - that'd be Situation Normal re the weather.

Last night we had a dumping of rain - this morning's traffic was chaos (city is over 1 million people btw) & those that got hit by the storm (upwards of $100 million in damages is a rough estimate) have had unexpected mudslides due to the lovely rain (if it falls in the dams that'd be great - this city has been on level 6 water restrictions for drought aka 140 Litres of water per person per day <--- gone up in past month to 170L/day).

Sydney also got hit with storms & flash flooding in spots too.

Not to mention more coming today so it's currently *races around for conversion chart* ah mid60s degree only to get hotter & stickier for the joy of more storms thumping :shock:

Getting ready for a Bones marathon this weekend. We rented on netflix. Haven't seen most of S2. Also hosting this year, so as soon as everyone vacates the premises, I'm thinking that vodka and a little DB eye candy will be in order.

Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow for all the Yanks. I hope not everyone has to suffer through two horribly uncomfortable dinners with two totally dysfunctional families like I do. I know I'd be happier at home eating grilled cheese sandwiches. I'll be getting through the holiday nightmare giving thanks for Twilight and reliving the movie in my head to relieve the awkard silences. ;)

Things are ok with me right now. The only suckage is that my doctor put me on drugs this week that I'm having a hard time getting used to. My nieces and nephews (who are all in their twenties) say I'm acting like I'm ever so slightly tipsy all the time. They laughed at me on Thanksgiving. Especially when I would stop mid-sentence because I'd forgotten what word I wanted to use. I did remember, by the way...five hours later.

Yes, I did remember...finally. And I seem to be doing better on the meds. I think I've finally figured out when to take them and my body seems to be adjusting now. I don't think I'm acting drunk all the time anymore. Hmmm... It's actually a bit disappointing. I was kinda digging walking around with a permanent buzz.
