SPROOK WROTE:VL - I don't use my old LJ - so I couldn't have known. I win by a technicality.
No, it just means that I didn't get the info to you. However Don does have my journal friended along with Candace and Debbie, so that should have gotten them here sooner. But they're kind of like me and rarely read their f-lists.
I meant to mention it to you when you called, but forgot. And I couldn't exactly tell Debbie 'cause it was kind of hard to get a word in with her. ;)
VAMPIRE LADY WROTE:I meant to mention it to you when you called, but forgot. And I couldn't exactly tell Debbie 'cause it was kind of hard to get a word in with her. ;)
That's okay, I forgive you. And boy, do I know it. Half the time I call her with something and she talks so much I forget why I called her. ;)
GEEZ!!! Is this pick on Debbie day. I guess let it all out now since this day has been stressful anyways. You know I joined this since you asked, but I can always head off on my little way. I have other stuff to worry about and boards to visit...
OK, good. I know that I talk a lot especially if it's something I'm excited about or know a lot about. In that case it was both. You got the double whammy! I know you love it and was missing it.
Hi again. Thanks for the support. I've needed it - have come by & read, & re-read the notes. :D
Orgran is my new best friend regarding foods & I'm slowly getting used to soy coffee :( it's just not the same with no cow in it!
The big thing I miss is cheese...have found a US import, (as a lot of soy et al have casein in them - one of my baddies) but it's not the same.
I'm hoping it's temporary....yeah well I can dream. :P
My absence has also been due to... a) diet changes & general synapse failure  b) jury duty (my 5th call up & narrowly, literally by TWO steps avoided a long trial)  c) my 14yr old cat being attacked & needing (as of this post) 3 trips to the vet (the middle one being a 48hr stay) & ongoing constant vigilance keeping her as Indoor Kitty d) the whirlwind that is my younger sister landing in Brisbane (she's currently residing in NYC) for 3 days
Jury Duty huh? Apparently they really like me because ever since I turned 18 they summoned me twice...at very inconvenient times.
Like I was summoned again...ugh. My Dr's office actually told me that I didn't have to go and no one would come after me...how crazy is that!?

Glori, I havent had a dairy product now in over 2 years. I use soy everything, milk, cheese, even sour cream, it made my cholesterol drop substantially and the best part is I don't have horrible pains anymore. 8-)

Yep, jury duty. Yay on it being over. Again. Hopefully that will be the last call up (I'm the only person I know with 5 call ups). It is so disruptive - can't do a thing in advance. Urgh.
YAY a week off now  Colour me happy.
Nora, good to know how going off dairy has helped. I miss cheese :(. I've yet to find many soy replacements (other than milk). Alas the soy cheeses have casein in them (a dairy protein I'm badly intolerant to). Though I do have one called umm, Cheezly (or something like that) & it's safe. Yet to find a sour cream etc.
Going to docs this week for a review & determine if I have to do a RAST test (IgA allergy rather than the IgG intolerance). Oh the joy....not.

Tofutti sour cream is Casein free, same with their cheeses, ice cream and cream cheese. There's a "Parmesan" cheese called "veggie" parmesan, it's in a small purple can, also casein free. I'm not supposed to have casein or whey. I noticed after about a year my casein allergy wasnt so bad so if soy products have it, it's so minimal I never have any issues with it. I know a lot of the "rice" cheeses don't have casein in them either.

Thanks Nora. Will keep an eye out for those brands, hopefully they will exist somewhere here (or I can find a whole/health food shop that will look at importing).
Oi vey. A year . How to make a hellgoddess learn patience. :o

Geez, I would hate having food allergies. Sure, I complain about my seasonal ones, but it doesn't really last long and I don't have to give up anything I like.
peanut ones here ...HIves and breathing issues with a dash of closing throats. fun fun fun
Thank god for an epi-pen.

So if LegoKing serves up a feast of mushrooms & peanuts when you & my other half are in the room Ramones it'd be a double trip to the emergency room :o.
Have had blood tests today :( took SEVEN vials of blood , were going down the allergy path (defining if just intolerant or allergic), plus cause I'm special all other manner of tests to explain my lack of immunity :?. Least my blood sucker aka pathologist was good. She got my vein 1st try (I'm shocking at getting veins anywhere near the surface) & she used a butterfly thingey so I wasn't having to try & keep the flow going..... (I'd be a vamps worst nightmare LMAO ).

Nora you must've sent the soy/tofu gods my way. I found Tofutti in a supermarket yesterday (a smaller chain) :D. Got me some vanilla and chocolate ones to try. They also have started stocking Van's waffles . Been searching for both those brands since May & it's the only place that has them. Woo Hoo!
Vamped - how in hell you been? How've the years been treating you? :geek:

Hi Im Vibes....I have been a Buffy addict for serval years now. I have been going to meetings and have recieved my 1 year coin twice. I plan to be a better more well rounded addict. I am also smart enough to know my role as a male. I agree with everything that Myth, Ramones and Nora say. I also love answering all questions with " yes dear" " you are right dear" " that dress looks amazing on you" " I am just a jester in your world my queen". I have been trained well.
