You know, Montreal is like NYC in that they have good public transit and you can walk to most of your destinations anyway. So yeah, he never needed to drive. On the flip side, I've never taken a bus. Ever. Our public transit sucks anyway, and I've always lived in the burbs. There are parts of the city I wouldn't mind living in, but it costs more as far rent, etc., and I'd still keep a car because the bus sucks. Also, scary people at the bus stops. :lol:

I can't imagine a "train pusher" anywhere. :shock: I wonder how I'm gonna fit in when I finally make it to NYC for a visit? When I went to Chicago (which here is considered "up north", like NYC :P ), people stared like I had three heads when I a)opened my mouth to speak or b) held doors for strangers, said "thank you", or expressed what I was taught was polite.

Public transit is scary here too as well. You never know when a panhandler will enter the subway car asking for money or find a homeless person sleeping in the seats smelling of urine. :shock:

I think here people will stare at you if you don't jaywalk. NYC the jay walking capital in the world :lol:

I've hold the door open for people here and I never got that stare ;)

Movies? In a movie theater? Last thing I saw in the theater was Juno. Trying to get to Iron Man. Must take it one movie at a time. SATC will work on DVD, so it can wait, but those big action blockbusters kinda need a big screen.

Iron Man was SO SO good, I'd even go see it again.

May go see Indiana Jones at some point.

Usually our homeless stay pretty central to the downtown area, but sometimes I come across one out in the burbs, and I always wonder how the heck they got all they way out there. I always give them money and it annoys the people I'm with, but it's just so damn sad. :cry:

Hippie - I have to disagree. NY is the jaywalking capital. :P People will cross the street with cars coming. In Times Square, there are people in the middle of the street as cars go by so they can cross :shock:

Lone-EEEP! It's hard to be a pedestrian here, people don't look for you because we're not used to a lot of them. Unless you are downtown, and even then, there's a "I'm in a car so I win" mentality. :P My ex-husband's GF hit a pedestrian last year, in his car. :shock: She was as shitty a driver as him. :lol:

It all depends. The Mets usually represent the working class while the Yanks cater to more rich people but it also depends where you live as well. Manhattanites, New jersians and Westchester people are Yankee fans while most Mets fans come from Brooklyn and Queens

Brooklyn is a huge change from Manhattan. Brooklyn is like the suburbs with townhouses and such.

There are Mets fans in Manhattan but they are the minority or they could be Yankees haters :P
