Ha! I did it! I make the thread!

does odd little happy dance, then sits puzzled as to why Nora didn't start it yesterday.

Happy June all! School's out in 12 days and I may actually get to see my kids again. :D

blech... it's such a Monday. Had a small bout of what we can only guess to be food poisioning on Friday evening which led me to sleep from 8pm to 8am the next morning almost non-stop. And after going to a wedding Saturday night, I skipped church (I know, going to hell and all that) to sleep in. So I have no reason to be tired.

But I am.

All better now... but it was weird. Only thing I had for "dinner" on Friday was a drink and a plate of mixed pub appetizers, which I split 50/50 with Otts and he didn't get sick.

That's not entirely uncommon. My mom made BBQ pork chops in the crock pot once. She and I got very sick from it, my brother got a littel bit hours after we did, and my dad didn't get sick at all and he ate the most of all of us. Food poisoning is weird like that. Glad you're better, though! I know how much is sucks! It's happened to me a couple of times and it's never fun.

VL - good to know

At least it didn't get in the way of me getting my hair done Saturday morning. Crazy though, the guy who cuts my hair said "so, we're into the post-engagement hair. Does that mean we're starting to grow it out?" Uh... I have almost 14 months... and heck, I LIKE my short hair.

"post-engagement hair" Man, for all the TLC watching I did while I was laid off, there's something I will never be able to crack open the mystery of.

Man, oh, man, this is going to be a week I can tell already...

And, hello all.

Heya Seven! Tell me about the mystery thing - for all that it IS a very important day, it is just ONE day, and I really don't want the next year of my life to be 100% dictated by it.

Lesson of the day - fiat needs to always have some salami or cheese or whatnot in her lunch; protein good.

I can understand the fuss over the one day without a doubt. :D

Mercy, I think I need some real time off soon. Little things at work are starting to irritate the fire out of me. Just had another little dig sent my way which on a normal day wouldn't have fazed me, but it really is getting under my skin right now.

Bit tired and thankfully this day is over. Summmer is going to be bad since now I have to be at wotk at 8AM. At least, I get out at 1 on Fridays ;)

Hope that everyone is having a good Monday and be thankful that it is almost over :P

I used to have a work schedule like that. For me, getting off early on Fridays pretty much made up for the early mornings!

Can I stay home too? I already did some work from home, albeit 3 days late, but I don't wanna get in my black suit (its eighty-freakin-two-degrees outside and humid) and wait on the idle rich... or my neighbors for that matter.

I just want to watch Buffy. I hate Dawnie. No whiney. I don't remember her being so damn whiney.

Nora - maybe it's time for a vacation? ;)

SuperSpy - I know what you mean I had to do some yard work this morning and it's reaching 92 with humidity here. Why do people want to come to Florida again? I can't blame you for not wanting to get dressed in a black suit in the heat! My co-workers are glad that work is ending for the summer months, it's getting too hot.

You forgot. . .coffee???? Now I'm worried Nora, that's a real cause for concern  I never thought I would like coffee, until I went into a Starbucks...I don't know what happened, but something clicked. I've never been the same.

Mmmm Dunkin Donuts.

I don't care for Dairy Queen, but their Moolatta was good, very good. The coffee and the mocha all swirly - worked well. Not good for the health, but screw it you only live once. :D

Let's here it for weather!

Major storm here in the Old Dominion (Virginia). Tornado warning and everything. Knocked out the electricity so we shut down the hotel. Of course, the moment we let all the staff go, the light came back on and people started wanting to know if we were open. Lost all that good business for my waitresses tonight. Grrr. Argh. Oh well, I got a night off... sort of. Left work at 6:00. Not bad.

Extra night with my kids! Woo hoo!

Nighty night, all. May we all have jelly filled, Dunkin Donut filled dreams.

Weather is fun! I was just paying for my dinner/breakfast at Bob Evans as the power went out this morning. Thankfully my credit card had already gone through or else I wouldn't have been able to pay. Not like it would have completely mattered, I was a regular before moving last month and so they most likely would have trusted me... most likely. If not, I'd just complain of sleepiness and see if that'd help me. I don't know how long it took them to get the power back on, but it was still off when I was done with my grocery shopping about an hour later.

I am in horrible pain, feels like someone punched me in the mouth...having a severe tooth ache that came outta nowhere. So won't be going directly to work in the AM, going to try and force my way into the dentists office.

Does anyone know the old phrase "it's summertime and the living is easy"? It's 93 today and 100% humidity, work is overwhelming beyond words, and I can't afford to do anything fun. Whoever it was that said that earlier phrase needs to be horsewhipped for it.

Afternoon, all.

Right now I'm very thankful I work 3rd shift. It gets sooo much more hot/humid in the factory in the day. It's still really bad at night, but not nearly as bad during the day.

Yeah, I run the grill at a drive-in restaurant, and it can get to be hotter than hell in there. On average, during the summer, it's a good 25-30° hotter inside than it is out. And we can't get air conditioning since the servers are always running in and out and it would "waste the company's money". Did I mention that the people I work for are very cheap?
