Part of my current writing homework is watching the Spuffy centric episodes....then go off & write a story :o. Knowing me I doubt it'll involve any Spuffiness per se....I'm just amused at my homework :lol:.

My favorite episode will forever be season 4's "Something Blue". Buffy and Spike engaged, bickering, and sucking face like it's going out of style! Giles telling the two of them, "Stop that! I can hear the smacking!" ROFLMAO every time!

I was enjoying the S6 birthday ep. Tara all knowing about Buffy and Spike and teasing him about his muscle cramp. Hahahahah.

Then we get to As You Were and Riley shows up. Yuck. I forgot that he got even more annoying than when he left. Why, exactly, did they bring him back? I guess it was simply as a vehicle to get her out of the Spike relationship. And they couldn't exactly use Angel with the network issues. Captain and Mrs. Cardboard. Eeeeew.

Okay, so I definitely a B/A shipper. Sorry folks. I watched I Will Remember You last night (the hubby was up for it, so why not) and, well, I think Angel was the bigger man.

Sure, Spike saw Buffy for who she really is, but so did Angel. And when given the choice, he chose The World over their love because that was what was needed. He was absolutely correct when he said that he being human would result in an earlier death for her and would be a distraction. And he did all of this knowing that only his memory of what they share for those 24 hours would remain in tact. I sure as hell couldn't do it. I don't think Spike would have made that choice, with or without his soul.

Sure as hell do enjoy and appreciate the Spuffy though... except for all the gratuitous chestity in S7. Why did Spike always have his shirt off?

Because such beauty should never be hidden by even the sexiest of tight, black shirts? :D

Superspy - It's good to hear that you still appreciate the Spuffy parts even though you are B/A. I find I can't be that way about B/A. As more time passes since BTVS ended, I find I get almost nauseous when thinking about B/A....really. Looking back, Buffy and Angel had so little time together and they never got to know each and then all of a sudden we are to believe this was a 'great love' especially when one character is 16 and the other is 240+. Yuck. I found Angel to be arrogant, pompous and selfish and I felt this way after watching at least half of ATS. He always imposed his feelings and his brand of righteousness on others. I watched ATS for the pleasure of the other characters until S3 and S4. I did watch S5 because of Spike and thoroughly adored Spike and Angel together. Angel needed someone like Spike around to bring him down a peg or two....something like Cordy did in the first 2 seasons. Further, I can't help but cringe when thinking that Angel could not tame his demon like Spike did. How can you like a couple when only one-half of the manvamp can love. How can you like a couple when the manvamp can turn into a psychotic sociopath? At least Spuffy has a history that builds up over the years into something real. I find Spuffy to be epic.

Ahh, see and here's the rub. I think that Spike was most definitely the better man-vamp (as you put it). He was certainly waay better when he got his soul. Frankly, I think Spike may be a better champion than either Buffy or Angel. He was, after all, willing to sacrifice himself to save the world. But, then again, Buffy did that as well.

When it comes to the relationships, however, Buffy was never going to love Spike in the way that she loved Angel... dream though Spuffies might. She, like Angel, is arrogant, pompous and selfish which is why they work. But it's all pretty academic isn't it? Of course, I am still wading my way through Season 8...

It took me a while to get back Superspy but I think that Buffy could have had a 'real' love for Spike. They made a better couple IMO. I agree with you that both Angel and Buffy were arrogant and pompous and probably deserved each other but what a horrible pairing! Both sulking and brooding and arguing all the time! Although I practically hated Buffy the last 2 seasons, there is a part of me that survived and wanted Buffy to end up with the 'better' man/vamp. She needed Spike in order to blossom.

I have to go with Myth on this I believe that given the time for her cookie dough to mature and ripen her love for Spike would have grown deeper. I mean even though Angel was the first teen love stuff. Spike before all the lovely chesticle scenes and passionate/rough sex of season 6. Spike was for a long time a friend of sorts to Buffy and his love for her was unconditional. His speech to her in s7 proves that when he states:
