Totally wiped out today. I took the day off after this weekend and am very happy that I did. Had my high school reunion (20th) on Friday and then the con all weekend. Very laid-back Dragon*Con this year for me, but still too little sleep...

Hello, NBers! How is everyone's Tuesday shaping up? Today is the first day of school for my oldest and my youngest is watching cartoons, so I thought I'd hit the computer for my Twilight news and NB fix (addictive personality much?).

My wedding planning is falling apart right in front of me! OK well the coordinator is screwing me over and I'm probably STUCK! She has decided to tell me 6 WEEKS before the wedding that she is changing the venue for the FOURTH time. To a place I don't like. And I've already sent out invites. Plus she's being a major Boober head! It's jsut major drama my already stressed out self doesn't need!

And we're already Stressing to figure out how to pay for stuff!

Sorry for the vent - bad day...

TV - LOL! Well, I'm glad that I could be your silver lining, at least. I don't envy you the wedding plans! I'm so sorry that you're stressing! Gee, am I glad that ship has sailed for me! Superspy and I have both decided if anything happens to our husbands, we're just going to take a series of lovers. ;)

I'm confused. How can your corrdinator choose to change venues on you this close to the wedding? Doesn't he/she work for you? Don't you decide the venue?

That's one thing that makes it worse. My fiance and I both are on our second weddings. He had a JOP wedding the first time and so we decided to do it right for his family and many of our friends would kill us if we eloped. But we decided on a beach wedding to be relaxed, laid back, and fun. Well it's turning out to be more stressful than a big fancy traditional one. If we didn't have so much money invested and are friends didn't also I'd say SREW it! I'm not a big wedding person to begin with...

And LOL - that totally sounds like you - a serious of lovers - what a trip! :P

So - how's your life. I can't believe your little ones are in school!!!!! AHHH!!!

Well, it's a long story, the first venue was partly their fault and partly hers. So she felt bad and immediatley changed us to a better location for our original budget. Then it changed at that location a few times between the pool deck and the beach (issues with the condos). NOW she's "claiming" that the impending hurricanes are causing her to change it - total BS! I talked to the condos and they are calling me back tomorrow but sounds like she is lying to us. My "assumption" is she is messing around with her clients money and having to cover her ass to make up for it. I have to go home and double check the contract but she "claims" she put a clause in that she can change the venue when need be. Bascially I called her out today and she said she could refund a portion of the money or if I have wedding insurance she'll refund the whole thing. DRAMA!!!!
SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right! Drama! And a wedding has such tight time restrictions, so it's not likely threatening to take her to court will help in time to get everything taken care of. Of course, you could always see how the threat changes her attitude, I guess. I truly wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away for you, TV! Are you taking a honeymoon? Maybe you could just concentrate on that for awhile...hotel sex cures (almost) all ills.

About the lovers, yeah, it does sound like Superspy and me, doesn't it. And we've definitely agreed that our series of lovers should be young and well-built ones. Legal, of course, but just this side of legal. ;)

OH yeah - we doing a cruise for the honeymoon!!!!!! We LOVE cruises!!!!! Thanks! I'll think about that for now. I have a call into the venue and they should call me back tomorrow so hopefully they will be able to provide some help. We are going to look into legal action but we don't want to threaten it - jsut do it - you know - suprise suprise!!!

You two are a trip! - So does Spike still qaulify for that list of yours? :?:

Oh and you asked me a question! Between thinking about your wedding and my lovers, I forgot. LOL! Life's good. Busy. Elizabeth just started 3rd grade today! Can you believe it? I know I can't! Ryan starts kindergarten at the end of the week! I still have at least one year of him going to school half a day. He has ADHD and his doctor thinks it might be a good idea for him to go through kindergarten twice. We'll see how he does this year and go from there. I don't think I'll know what to do with myself when both kids are in school all day! I'm tossing around the idea of going back to school.

WOW - I feel old!!! I can't believe Elizabeth is in 3rd grade! Years fly by! And Ryan is 5 WOW!!! I would wait on the whole ADHD thing. Ever kid is different and needs different thigns. I have it and went thgouh school just fine! I did need medicine in high school but I taught myself how not to need it in college.

So what would you go back to school for?

TV - My list is a little destroyed at the moment. I'm afraid I'm one of those scary Twilight fans. I am head over heals in love with a fictional seventeen-year-old vampire now. I will probably cause an uproar around here, but I have to say, in my opinion, Edward is sexier than Spike. I think I just heard a number of NBers mouths just drop open in shock!

Ryan is on the ADHD medication now, and it does help him alot. I thought his preschool teacher was going to rip her hair out over him before he started taking it. I'm not sold one way or the other on the second year of kindergarten. I'm definitely not making any decisions until I see how he does this year.

As for school for me, I don't know. I can't seem to decide what I want to be when I grow up (if I ever do ;) ). My latest thought is to go back and take the education route. I truly love history (my major in college), but what am I ever going to do with that besides teach? Now if only I liked children.

WOW!!!! You like someone more than Spike? I think my mouth just dropped!!! :o :o :o :o So what is Twilight?? A show? TV's TV watching has been limited as of late - I'm not up on a whole lot anymore...

Definitley just play it as it goes for Ryan. My borther was ADD and needed the medicine as a kid but didn't when he got older. It's always different. My parents had the option of holding me back and there were pros and cons looking back on it. Just see how you feel and make the decisions yourselves!!!!

I LOVE History! But I've come to the conclusin I don't want to go back to school anytime soon. I'm ready to settle down in a decent job and have a family.

It's been GREAT catching up with you! I've missed our NB hangout sessions! But I must head out now. Work is DONE for the day and I'm going to have a beer after this day! 8-)

TV! You don't know what Twilight is? :o :o The Twilight Saga is a series of four books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) written by Stephenie Meyer. YOU MUST READ THEM!!! They are about the love story between human girl, Bella Swan, and absolutely drop dead sexy vampire boy, Edward Cullen. I got the first three books for Christmas 2007 and I'm on my seventh time through them! I'm addicted, what can I say? Go out and buy them! You'll find them in the Young Adult section of most book stores (although they have tons of adult fans, too). They will take your mind off the wedding stress! I almost suggested taking them on your honeymoon, but if you're like me, you would ignore your husband and just obsess about Edward the entire time. Maybe not the best way to start a marriage. ;)

Bye, TV! I hope you enjoy that beer! Maybe we'll run into one another again soon! *crossing fingers in hopeful way*

Val don't forget to breathe in your shock over TV's lack of awareness :o  .

TV you make me very happy in my decision to really not want to marry again. I'd heard from a celebrant (I do calligraphy on his wedding certificates) that beach weddings are notorious for being spectacular or a minefield :o Good luck with it all!

Heya all.... to quote Nora, this week is balls for me, at least on the work front. But I'm alive and kicking.

TV - *HUGS* keep breathing... and let me know if you want help kicking arse!

Val - Ryan is not possibly old enough for kindergarten. I refuse to believe that!

Glori - eep... hope you feel better soon.

Sups... I am with you. *faints*

ROFLMAO!!! Nat and Fiat, sorry about causing the fainting spells! Does anyone have any smelling salts around here? Sorry, I really can't help it. I'll always have a place in my heart for Spike, but he's been completely overshadowed for me by Edward. Spike is sexy and dangerous, but Edward is sexy, dangerous, AND romantic. Now, if only they both weren't fictional. ;)

TV - When you get a chance let us know what happened when you talked to the venue people. I'm curious to know if your corrdinator was lying to you or not!

Glori - Sorry about the cold, sweetie! Make sure you take it easy and feed yourself some chicken soup. As for TV's lack of awareness...I sometimes forget that the entire world is NOT as Twilight obsessed as I am.

Fiat - Yep. Ryan is five years old now. And he's the tall and skinny type, so people mistake him for even older. He and I have to be at his school at 1 pm today for his kindergarten orientation. I know, it seems like just yesterday I was with you all in NB, complaining about being pregnant and waiting for him to be born! Eeek!

Val - Well, my corrdinator fed me what I now know was MORE lies yesterday. Turns out she has been lying to us all along. The venue is tryint to work with us and is going to try and make her deliver on what she promised. We'll see how it all works out...

Hey Dia

how is it going?

Dia - They are all scanned on .PDF format. It's pretty much all readable and it all comes in just one dvd disc. What is pretty cool about it that they also have the ads from that time. Also, having 500 issues on one disc saves a lot of space ;)

For the Spider-Man, it has every Amazing Spider-Man issue until 2005 as well as the annuals and also the first issue that Spider-Man appeared on Amazing Fantasy #15.

For the X-men, they have every Uncanny X-men issue until 2005 as well as their annuals.

What they don't have is the crossovers but still a great bargain to have 500 issues on one disc.

I also bought the complete Ghost Rider as well.

Also, they have 40 Years of Avengers, Hulk, Captain America comics on DVD

Lone - again that's awesome!!! it's great that they're in good condition and readable. Who's putting out the disks? I wouldn't mind Spiderman I don't have all of those.. X-man's another story thou :P ooooo Ghost Rider too.. it might be cool to have the x-men on disk too actually.. I'm always afraid of touching some of the comics cause I don't want them to degrade in value

Dia - Marvel and a company called Gitcorp are doing it. GIT Corp does the scanning for the comics. I've read the first 20 issues of each and so far it's been pretty cool. One flaw that I found is that you have to zoom in a bit like at 120% for it to be nice and sharp, but that's a minor annoyance. I think that they should have put the annuals with the issues so you know when they came out instead of putting them in a separate category by themselves.

I was talking to a staff person at a comic book store and he was telling me that Marvel has stopped doing it so I don't know if any more will be coming out on disk. I think Marvel should continue doing it. It's such a space saver and having every issue on disk and you can definitely preserve the original issues that you have.

I'm definitely thinking of picking up some more maybe like the Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer and the Avengers is intriguing as well.

DCA - For Spider-man, it contains every issue of The Amazing Spider-man series. It starts off with Amazing Fantasy #15 with the origin of Spider-man and then starts off with Amazing Spider-man #1 and finishes with the June 2006 issue. It has also annuals as well.

For Ghost Rider, it has the Johnny Blaze series of the 70's and 80's. It also has the Danny Ketch series of the 90's.

For the X-men, it starts off with X-men #1 and continues to X-men #92 which is the giant issue and continues when it is called X-men All new, All different and than changed to the Uncanny X-men. The last issue is Uncanny X-men #461 and it also has 25 Annuals as well.
