S2 is filming now. I think the show is quite popular so no death.

Maybe I'm the only here that didn't like MOONLIGHT. The show had promise but I couldn't take another brooding vampire. I also think it is a kiss of death for a show like this to be on CBS, Fox, NBC or ABC.

Myth you're not the only one regarding Moonlight. When watching individual episodes didn't work, I tried watching it in bloc form and I still didn't like it. It dragged on for me way too much - if they'd perhaps condensed the whole first season (was it a whole 1st season?) into like 3-4 eps & moved it along......I was very much going round the house "It quacks, looks & swims like a duck" issues 8-) .

Plus what is it with the whining, "Oh My, I'm a bad bad thing - I'm a vampire?????" going round????? Pft!

Yay about True Blood.

I hated MOONLIGHT. I couldn't even make it all the way through the first episode I thought it was so bad. I think I watched 15 minutes and nearly gagged myself to death before turning it off.

The only character I liked in Moonlight was Josef. He was the reason I watched the show.

I did love Bloodties.

After Spike, Henry Fitzroy was one sexy vamp.

Did you guys care for Bloodties? :?:

I hope they "vamp" up Bill because he needs it.

Mistress Freya I think BloodTies has only been on cable down here so I hadn't seen any......until the holiday away last week . My other half has procured some of it for me so I'll be getting back to you on this  - the episode I got initiated on was like a no. something in S2 so hard to get a feel per se (if it helps it was about a painter/painting episode).

Mistress - I liked BLOOD TIES alot. It found a home on LIFETIME which was 'death' to the show. If it had been on one of the premium cable stations, it would have survived and it would have been better quality due to a better budget. Henry was sexy and I adored Kyle Schmidt...what a cutie!!

Okay I have to admit I actually liked Moonlight and was sad to see it go. I never got into Blood ties and Myth you are soooo right it was killed by being on Lifetime.

I cannot wait for Trueblood to gte out on DVD so I can see it I am sadly without premium channels and somewhat inept at the TV download thing so sadly no true blood but I can be patient I hear form some friends that I should watch it.

Yes Myth I have friends in the real world. ;p

I read where viewership for TB was increasing by leaps and bounds each week.
This should give HBO a boost in the ratings since it was flagging behind other cable stations.
If they could have broadcast Bloodties I'm sure it would have survived. Frankly I think it was much better than TB.
BTW, does anybody know why the Bloodties dvd was released in Great Britain last year but still hasn't been released in the states?

No fricking way!!!!!!! ;)

MF- Maybe Bloodties was more popular in Great Britain....who knows. If HBO decided on Bloodties it would have been very popular. If I didn't leave notes all around the house, I would have forgotten that Bloodties was even on. I never watch Lifetime.

I miss FOREVER KNIGHT. :( Was a wonderfully cheesey late-80's Canadian/German/American production. Nick Knight is an 800 year old vampire police detective. He, of course, falls in love with the human coroner and eventually they start trying to develop a cure. But it had some great auxiliary characters as well. I really enjoyed the show.

Of course, I also miss HIGHLANDER THE SERIES, XENA and HERCULES so there's no accounting for taste.

Hm. I either go for the cheesey scifi/fantasy or the crime procedurals.

I really need to get out more.

I thought for sure they would snub her but they didn't.
She had some very stiff competition too.

I read where she won the Academy Award when she was a little girl in a movie called "the Piano" I believe.

Like you said Glori, it's wonderful that the series is being recognized.

Anna was a native of New Zealand (aka Middle Earth country now *lol*.....NZ & Aust is kinda like Canada & US with their neighbourliness) & won the Academy at about age 11  she was Holly Hunter's daughter in the movie.

I didn't see that part of the Golden Globes but I am happy for AP and vampires everwhere :D I saw THE PIANO and it was considered 'the women's lib' movie of the time. I absolutely HATED it. Holly Hunter is an awesome actress but I despised her character.

Mike Ausiello has some spoilers for the next season:

- Sookie and Bill travel to Dallas to investigate the disappearance of a vamp Sheriff. the annoying Jessica (remember bill made her and Eric gave her back) is along for the ride. Snort.
-Maryann's storyline will play out....and the answer to what she is is not in the books.
-Lafayette died in the books but maybe not in the series. Cliffhanger.

I would like the 2 hours it took to watch The Piano back, thank you. I saw it when it came out and was so not moved. Anna Paquin was wonderful, particularly given her age, but I must admit that the movie made me gun shy about anything with her in it. Oddly, I did not have that problem with Jody Foster. But I shall perhaps try out TrueBlood this eve. I am so glad HBO streams it on their web site.

Have you heard about the British series Being Human about a vamp a werewolf and a ghost. I know it sounds like a bad joke but it is pretty good. I have a connection at my TS site.

Hey Ramones - glad you have come up for breath! I'm currently sitting a juror for a murder trial (yep....again :? :? ). Have seen the original start of Being Human - they have since re-cast & reshot the series but not calling it a new pilot.....so that is on the list of ones to re-see.

I've been scared witless by Demons - it was so cheezy that I'm not sure the 'z' in that spelling covers it :o !

Going to be introducing a newbie to TrueBlood over the weekend

I have to say it still is pretty good. They kept the wolf boy but recast Annie...I miss the original Annie the ghost.

Also watched a 1/2 hour show on the upcoming season and they didn't show Lafayette in any of the trailers.

They said it was going to be sexier, darker and more violent than the first season. I thought the gore factor was just right.

They can make it sexier by showing nekkid scenes of Erik.

Were people aware that the actor playing Erik is in Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" song clip? Not sure if it was banned in the States - she's been touring here (hence seeing the clip) & I missed hearing if it had to be edited for the US or if it was outright banned. I haven't had coffee yet......but I think he got to be at least open-shirt, if not top-half nekkid....

I watched the season1 finale last night and it occurred to me that Lafayette was missing for TWO WEEKS and then we saw the dangly leg and polished toenails in GOOD condition. So, either Lafayette was 'just' killed or he survived the attack (Iam assuming werewolf here) and crawled into the cop's car. I will not give up on Lafayette!!!!!>>>>>>**resolve face**!

I thought the S2 premiere was okay because it has set up some story lines.

If this were Joss Whedon, then we would know immediately that since Sookie and Bill declared their love that it is doomed. I guess we will have to wait and see what these writers do and if they took lessons from JW 8-)

Looking at the chest of 'missing heart', I couldn't decide if it was blown out or grabbed.

I like Eric but he was ferocious last night. You have to admit that the highlighting foils was a fun touch

Well, the Lafayette mystery is solved. Boy, was I wrong about the dangly foot w/ painted toenails! Next weeks previews are interesting and I wonder if Lafayette will be turned. I wanted to see him as a werewolf but it would make sense, in a twisted way, if he is turned because it will set up a dynamic with Jason and THE CHURCH OF THE SUN. It will pit two friends against each other.

Jason is still a dumbass and so easily led and I still want to slap Sookie and Tara.....but I will calm myself down

The scariest thing about last night, for me, was the Preacher and his cohorts. I can't take ministries like this and of course the writers are targeting existing ministries. I'd rather face vampires than a preacher like this.

Okay Myth I am soooo hooked now. I found it online and have downloaded all of season one and then saw s2.

I liked the premier. I also want to slap Tara and I have to say Bill and Sookie yes are so doomed. I also have to say I have a thing for Sam. I hate to see him suffering all the time.

The new mysterious Maryann is interesting and what is with all the shaking?

I would also like to see Lafayette turned into a vamp. Yes and Eric's foils were hilarious!

Jason is the biggest dumbass. I thought they could never write another character as dumb or dumber as Harmony but yes they have.

I also have a feeling Jessica will become the next annoying Dawn thing. Oh gosh I hope she does not shriek.

Ramones - I think some ministries do good work, or at least I hope they do but they scare the crap out of me. I don't mean to offend anyone (but may be I do 8-) ), but televised ministries prey on the weak minded and just keep dipping into wallets. I hope they show the minister and his wife getting into a limo and getting out at their mansion in upcoming episodes. I can almost picture Jason and the minister's wife going at it like rabbits down the line.

Aww...Jason. Thank goodness he has a gorgeous bod because he is such a brainless twit

I did laugh with Bill's 'politically correct' recycling :D

thought the same thing about Jason and the minister's wife. We know he will revert. Or at least we can hope.

I still have a fondness for Sam. I hope he finds someone. As much as I like Sookie and Bill part of the underdog thing in me is cheering for a Sam and Sookie hook-up. Bill is so trying to be a better man kind of like Spike but when he said Sookie was his miracle it was pretty haunting and the hot sex did not hurt either.

Ramones- I read the first 4 books and then screamed and refused to read more despite EMums' coaxing. If they follow the books then Bill and Sookie are doomed. I guess it will depend on the writers and producers for the series. If S/B (geez, that's creepy  ) are way popular with fans then the writers will keep beefing up their romance. Money is money. In the books, Bill is as dull as dirt. I liked him well enough in the first book and then it was downhill from there for me. Eric was my boy. He was such an interesting character and he and Sookie get involved but then the author had Sookie going after a 'were-something'. It was getting too Laurell Hamilton for me. Sam is a minor character in the book. I am glad he is getting a bigger part in the series and the actor is a cutie :D Nice butt too

I think the writers are steering away from the books but using the characters.

My guess about Maryann (who was involved in an Eric story line) is that she rips out hearts to stay young. The timing is perfect....she arrives in town and then ripped out heart. We'll see.

I'm still trying to figure out how Lafayette ended up chained in that cellar.

I'm so happy it wasn't his body in that car.

I also thought Erik's foils were hysterical.

If the writers are smart they will make Erik's role larger. :D
