I'm very curious how they are going to play out Maryanne.....she is in the book but so far it ain't looking the same.

Finally watched the premiere. I'm glad Lafayette isn't dead. Bill is still boring. Jason is still dumber than a doorknob. That Jessica chick is still freakin' annoying. So, not much has changed. But then again it is a straight continuation from the finale of last season.

Anybody know the purpose of Lafayette and those other people turning that cog thing? Did I miss something? Some sort of explanation? 'Cause it seemed kind of random and like it didn't really have a purpose. It's like it happened whenever somebody felt the need to move or something.

Maryann is interesting. The fact that she has a connection with Sam was a nice twist.

Will download Sunday's ep Monday and most likely not be able to watch it 'til next Friday. That'll probably be my schedule for the whole season thanks to summer school.

I didn't understand that cog wheel thing either.
At one point one of them yelled he had to use the bucket....eww.
Then they rotated until he got to it...again eww.
Other than that it beats me.

Isn't it nice to know that Tara has a 'clue' about Maryanne? Looks like next week she will get 'slammed' with clues.

I just freaking loved Lafayette's part last night. He is one of the most interesting and believable characters on this show. You just gotta love how he talked to Eric...."I'll be YOUR bad ass vampire". I am so happy that the writers are enlarging his part and allowing him more acting chops. I personally can't wait until he makes his appearance as a new vamp!

Okay.....so what is the problem about blood in Eric's hair??? Blood discolors vamp hair??? I do like it shorter though and Eric did look good in his track top and jeans....yum. I am getting nicely used to Alexander Skaarsgarrd as Eric. Next week looks good....I do believe the previews show Sookie getting kidnapped.

I do like the feeling of looking forward to a series again on a weekly basis :D

I completely agree Myth. Having a new series to look forward to is something I love. I have that in Robin Hood but the sadistic writers are screwing with the fans so I am losing steam:

Think Lafyette was a just a snack or is he a vamp? I really hope Vamp He would be a big bad ass vamp.
Shopping was hilarious. Eric and Bill in the store and the clerk was sooo funny. even vamps look bad in store lighting.
Not sure I am liking Maryanne. She kind of annoys me. and that shaking like she is all sex in polyester. I might like it more if I liked the actress better. Just don't like her.

Best was Jessica and Sookie at her folks house. I hope Bill at least eats the father. abusive turd.

also the sun camp for stupid people is creepy. far too Jesus camp meet Buffy.

Poor Sam now what kind of weird woman is he getting involved with. Eric is growing on me quite a bit I would love to read his back story. So glad Lafyette is still with us I felt like he needed a hug poor baby when he got home. Maryanne annoys the crap out of me.

I am liking Jessica I thought we might have another Dawn but I am kind of liking her.

I absolutely adore Jessica!! My oldest son comes and sits with me when TB is on. I am always shocked!! He has a 'thing' for Jessica and thinks she is sexy as hell :lol: I told him he got skip through the episode and just view the scenes with Jessica but he sits quietly enjoying the whole hour. Ahhhh....a mother and her son watching TB together every Sunday night :D

Bummer.....no new episode this weekend due to the 4th :cry:

I was looking forward to Lafayette being a bad ass vamp. Now I am just curious about his continuing storyline. I like him and I want to keep him in the series.

I hate Maryann and her story. It's boring, at least for me.

I bet the bull creature was sent by Maryann to 'off' Sookie so that Tara won't move in with her.

I adored Eric in the books and I must say that Alexander Skaarsgarrd is growing on me fast and furious like. Bill is way too dull for my liking.

I stopped reading the books after the 4th one because I couldn't stomach Sookie anymore but EMums assured me that Sookie grows up nicely after book #4. I can only hope that Anna Paquin tones down a bit because she is grating on ALL my nerves right now.

Their trip to Dallas should have some funny moments.

Loved the scene where Eric is standing outside the window talking to Lafayette about his infected leg.
I'm betting Lafayette invites him in. Eric seems to developing a fondness for him too.

Wish they would get rid of Maryann.
The only thing she has going for her is that she can throw a heck of a party.

Okay....I am about to vomit over Sookie and Bill. I want to deck Sookie....and then Anna Paquin. I used to like AP but she makes me grind my teeth as Sookie.

I absolutely adore the Eric character....he is INTERESTING!!!

The Maryann storyline has to get over fast or I may crash my tv. I feel the same about Sam's storyline too....but I do like Sam.

Tara is supposed to be smart but she sure doesn't show it

Damn....I just can't stomach the drippiness of Bill and Sookie. What a wussy vamp. Grrrrr.

I am more quiet about Jason and his storyline because we know that this is going to build up to a 'show down' later with Sookie involved.

think though from comic con and the previews Eric finds his way to Sookie and makes her more tolerable. I am hoping that Bill is a douche bag like in the books and is a flunkie of the queen or king of LA.

I like nudie scenes but I have to say that last group orgy scene (Hard Hearted Hannah eppy) was over the top and in your face.

Sookie was stupid for not getting out of that church as soon as she realized they were holding a 2000 yr old vampire in the cellar. Obviously it's Eric's sire.

I like Tara but she better regain her edginess.

I think they should retool this show and make Eric the main character. Bill is pathetic and whiny. :roll:

This is just my opinion. I wouldn't miss an eppy for anything.

I am so going to watch this ep again!! Finally, after 2 or 3 gawd awful eps, we get the some payoff for the buildup.

I actually didn't mind Sookie last night. It really helps to have Sookie and Bill separated.

I am almost remembering the book and I think Godric may be behind what is going on but I can't be sure. When I say that I read the books, there is a reason why I stopped after book 4 and immediately forgot the plots...except for Eric parts.

Anyone else noticing this? We have Sookie who was sheltered all her life and then we have Jessica who was sheltered and oppressed her life but Jessica is a fun character who is adjusting to her new life quite well and is not annoying. I think Hoyt and Jessica are an adorable couple whereas Sookie and Bill drip sap. Here's hoping that Jessica keeps her fangs away from Hoyt's neck!!

Another thing, Jason has evolved. I wonder if this will continue or if the writers will have him revert to brainless stud again.

Who knew Eric's hearing was that acute??? Man, he was a blur flying out of that hotel room.

I was taken by surprise to see that Hugo is the traitor. Guess he didn't adjust very well to her refusal to turn him.
And they say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Hah!!!

Did Sookie just block off Hugo's thoughts before out of privacy? You think she would have taken a peek into his noodle knowing nobody had been ruled out as the traitor.

Loved, loved Lafayette using his eyelash curler. He seems to have gotten back a little sashay in his step.

Looks like Tara is realizing something is very off in Bon Temps.

Jason finally made a smart choice in trying to leave the compound. The preachers wife is a whacko. She just committed adultery with him and then she says "I've never felt closer to God." :roll:

Why did Maryann have Eggs kill , (can't remember her name) Sam's former girlfriend? What am I missing?
Killing her didn't make any sense.

My biggest question of all is how in the blazes did Godric get into that storeroom to save Sookie?

I think Daphne was a throw away character. She spilled the beans about Maryann to Sam (and us) and then got the knife in the gut.

Did you notice Maryann's ugly man feet and calves the morning after the orgy when she was holding the rabbit?

I stopped reading the books after 4 or 5 I think because I couldn't take Sookie but I got to say that Alan Ball makes her more drippy in the series. At least she was better in this ep. Also, there is a reason why Godric was so fast and THERE when Sookie was in trouble. I am remembering a wee bit from the book.

Eric is getting yummier.

I like Lafayette getting some of his swagger back but for how long? He has emotional scars. He sure hated Eggs...go Lafayette!!!!!

Jason finally stopped acting like an empty headed man-whore and did something worthwhile. Points for Jason.

Loved the line when Jason says to Newlin: "I've already been to heaven... inside your wife." That was priceless. :D

Godric is going to be an interesting character.

The Maryann plot stinks and I can't wait until it is over. I hope Andy is the big hero taking her down. The Hunter's Pie (it was NOT a souffle) was gross with Daphne's heart and I was disturbed with the sexploits and beating between Tara and Eggs. Talk about rape themes. I thought JW was obsessed with this stuff!

Jason was a hoot and a hero :D So different from the books and I like the change because he was an insensitive horndog in the books and a lousy brother.

I'm sorry but I have a problem with Sookie. I didn't care for her too much in the books but Alan Ball just makes her more annoying IMHO. I would love to see how someone like Michelle Williams would handle the part. AP is driving me crazy....but she was better in the last 2 eps. I actually didn't mind her dress either.

A.S.'s acting was superb. Showed such a range of emotions.

Eric is a scamp...conning Sookie into taking his blood.

I'm hoping Eric will eventually hook up with Sookie. They make a hot couple, although she should cut down on her whining.
She can protest all she wants but she's having to face the fact that she found him appealing from the get-go.

But with AB, who knows what will happen.
If they dare kill off Eric then I'm out of there.
I'm still pissed that they killed off Sookie's grandmother.

In a way, I envy you because you are 'book free'. I think the author, Charlaine Harris is up to book 9 now and Eric is still undead and well. Sookie has not made her choice. I only read the first 4 or 5 books and threw them down out of frustration because Sookie remained a real twit IMHO. EMums feels that Bill truly loves Sookie and Eric is unclear. EMuns keeps me up to date. My guess will be that Sookie ends up with Bill because the author is Southern and Bill is a Southern Gentleman. Who knows. I loved the fire between Eric and Sookie in the books while Bill remained dull as dirt. Bill does something which sends Sookie into Eric's arms. I am hoping that this happens in the series.

Lafayette has an incredibly small part part in the books as does Tara, so AB has been nice to give us them in such rich characters.

You're right...it's a good thing I haven't read the books, otherwise I think my head would have exploded by now.

Lafayette is my favorite character right after Eric. Lafayette can do it all. I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that Tarot card reading.

Tara is bright, so I can't see her being fooled for too much longer by Maryann. Hopefully, with L.'s intervention perhaps she will see the light. Eggs, I just don't like him, and didn't from scene 1.

As soon as Bill grows a pair, maybe his character will grow on me. The jury's still out on that.

Obviously AB was not going to go with the 'pedophile' storyline w/ Godric. The author actually did a nice job handling this in the book and she successfully expressed Godric's weariness with existence.

Unfortunately, I don't think Bill is capable of growing anything more than wee little ones :?

I saw a brief news blurb where Bill Moyer called AS 'Gigantor". That's his nickname on the set :lol:

Wow....short, short, short episode!! I guess when AB doesn't have enough material or thoughts for an ep then he resorts to more orgy scenes. I could have done without the oral sex scenes....that was crass. Hey, AB, we get the idea about Maryann's influence already!!!!

Some funny moments with Sam, Jason and Andy. I do so hope that Andy stops drinking because he is a good character on the show. (Book Andy is different...ick). Rambo Jason....w/ a nail gun...LOL.

AB is jumping light years ahead with Sookie's 'glowing hand'.

I wanted to kick Maryann's ass for the trashing Sookie's house. Loved the scenes with Hoyt, Jessica and Hoyt's mom. I am thinking that I will get my mom a Wii to channel her nasty moods :?

I almost thought we were getting a flashback of what happen between Sookie and Eric after Godric's death but I didn't see any fang marks on her neck when she woke up. Dang...it was a dream :cry:

Okay, Bill grew a pair, albeit wee ones, which IMO means that Maryann's little comment of 'Bill leaving Sookie w/o looking back' is clear foreshadowing (anvil style) that Bill is not shocked by what or who the Queen is eating but by the Queen herself.

I have been schooled in the Joss Whedon writing style....if things start looking better then there is doom, doom, doom. Bill growing a pair and being all assertive is BAD news for Sookie.

Some days its not even worth chewing through the restraints.

WOW yes not enough Eric but I have to say the bill and sookie scenes did not induce projectile vomit so it was not half bad.

crazy ass Hoyt's Mama was hilarious. She is a wild wild mama. I want to party with her. The way she was playing Wii I almost split a gut. She was friggin' hilarious. and when Bill tried to suck on Mayranne and the black blood EWWWW. Jason was brilliant the right mixture of dumb back wood ass and balls out hero. Andy as the aklie was also great. When Sam came out in the apron LMAO. too bad only 2 episodes left and they have to be Maryanne centric. Also the vampire queen hmmm interesting....

I hate the maryanne storyline someone please kill her already!

in the first part when Sookie came to comfort Eric. Wow , Okay the grab....

When I saw Eric grab Sookie's hand there was such desperation and a need to connect. I saw that grab a dozen times with Guy and Marian but the best scene was the kiss where he grabbed her like his life depended upon it. I felt it in Eric's grab. Also in JE when Jane came back to a wounded Rochester he grabbed her like that when he was in the chair and he realized it was Jane.

To me you have to look at it being Sookie's dream. She wants Eric to need her and want her. She needs that which is why it is in the dream sequence. I think this scene carried so much heat and so often I do not see this heat with Bill. do you think AB will follow that Bill came for sookie at the bidding of the queen? I read some of the books not in order and skimmed through others. I hope they create a Spike/Guy(Robin Hood) like character with layers for Eric. I see Spangle and Spuffy stuff with eric and bill and sookie triangle.

Are we ready for the finale??? I haven't checked but I sure hope that Alan Ball doesn't write the finale. Ep11 sucked and he wrote it. I am getting a little peeved with the writing when we get a great episode and then for the next episode we get another writer who doesn't pay attention to character growth. Reminds me of BTVS where I would scratch my head and wonder if ANY of the writers ever read the prior scripts or watched the series.

I'll miss Michelle Forbes and yet I CAN'T wait until the Mayann story is finished!! Kill that Bitch already!!!

Hope there is some more Eric/Sookie dreams. I understand that S3 has lots of Erik :D I am not particularly happy with AB right now because I think he has his own agenda and will not be following the books. He seems to want to keep Erik as the 'bad' guy. Stupid and so not bookErik.

"I Will Rise Up" was one of my favorite eppys. Mainly because of the dream sequence between Eric and Sookie. I still think they made a big mistake killing off Godric. AB's not following the books as if they were gospel anyway. They could have gone in several directions with Godric. Just the Eric/Godric relationship alone would have provided a ton of material.

Last week's new eppy was lame, and what's with that freaking egg in the nest?
I was disappointed on several levels with the writing.
If they don't at least close down Maryann in the finale I'm going to throw up in my mouth. :evil:

Well, that was a lame-ass finale!! Alan Ball sucks and treats his audience like children. Grrrrr.

Well, I guess Jason and Sookie are half siblings. Looks like Jessica went off the deep end, Hoyt may go off the deep end as well as Jason. At least Eggs was put out of his misery.

Lafayette looks good in a dress/toga.

Erik looks sexy even when he is intimidated.

I don't think I could have taken any more of the Sookie and Bill goop.

The good news for S3? I read that we will be seeing MORE of Erik ;) The bad news... we've got a 6 month wait. Sigh.

The queen had the best line of all with Eric..."Who knows if it's gospel or gorilla shit."

Maybe I was expecting too much with all the hype from cast members saying the finale would blow your socks off, but frankly I was disappointed. It was a major letdown. *yawns*

Obviously, it was Eric at the end who snared Bill at the table. He did tell the queen he would personally take care of Bill Compton.
