I was in Florida for a week. The land of my mother and when I keep her company it means, restaurants, shopping and movies. So........................
CLOVERFIELD. Decent. Not as good as I had hoped. The monster was awesome though. I think I would have liked it better if there was less video cam wobbling. I know that was the point...but still ...I have never had motion sickness before!
JUNO. Loved it. Perfect little gem of a movie.
The new NATIONAL TREASURE with Nick Cage. Entertaining and complete escapism.
Read 4 books. Yay me:P

saw Juno WONDERFUL!!!!
also rented Stardust. I really liked it.
Oh and No Nap rented Game Plan. If I have to watch it again I think my head will explode.
Want to see Atonement but think I have to be ready for it.

Ramones - I am right there with you....I am not ready to see ATONEMENT. Maybe on DVD. I can't set myself up for a full-out crying fit in a movie theater.

Not sure if you saw it but my Man Keanu has a new film out!!
Color me heated and excited Keanu with a gun!!!:woohoo:

Haven't seen anything advertised for Keanu's film. I'll check it out.
NO RESERVATIONS - I liked this movie more than I thought I would. Decent way to spend some time sitting back and relaxing.
JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB - OMG....I am becoming a 'chick flick' girl:ohmy: LOVED this film. Great cast. It was slow moving to build the characterizations and story lines. An unexpected surprise for me.
THE HUNTING PARTY- with Richard Gere and Terence Howard. I am a Howard fan. Super movie....check it out. Premise: Can 3 reporters find one of the world's worst war criminals when the U.N., C.I.A. etc haven't been able to find him for years??? You just have to watch the pre-ending comments before the film credits. I nearly fell off my sofa laughing!! Yep....I can believe the scenerio!! Well done and it has humor and nail biting scenes.

NO RESERVATIONS: I gotta say I kind of hated this. I know but I did the chemistry left me cold and bored and I hated Zeta Jones in this. What a bitch. I did not like her at all. Could not see what the guy liked about her at all. She was a cold piece of dead fish for me in this film.
DARKCITY: 2 words Rufus' butt! okay it was pretty good. I have to admit I wanted to slap the silly voice out of Keifer (he annoyed me as the doctor) and felt like hitting the mute button but the rest of the cast was so good I really liked it. It was like Blade Runner on acid. Cool dark flick. and did I mention Rufus' butt?
ATONEMENT: Okay I said I was not going to see this film but I did since my friend wanted to go. Whew it is heavy. Just like the book and I still have to say the little girl still wanted to bitch slap her like I did throughout the book. Briney the whiny brat. SLAP! Hot library scene I will never look at a book case the same way again.
WAITRESS: Saw it again Loved it and Nathan Hottie!
INVISIBLE: boring and stupid I want my 2 hours back

okay here is the Keanu film. Click for the trailer. He is in uniform and has a big gun. You know how I love that.
Thanks for the info and trailer. STREET KINGS looks like a good pic and only 7 more weeks!!
I rather like Zeta-Jones. She was a super cold fish who thawed nicely in the film. I was expecting a totally 'phfft' movie so I was pleasantly surprised. And hey...free rental.
Just finished watching AMERICAN GANGSTER. Yep, the hype is spot on for this...great movie. LOOOOOONG but worth it. The movie slowly builds up so you get a feel for all the characters and I'm a sucker for a slice of American history.
Rented MICHAEL CLAYTON.
Just heard Brad Pitt and Angelina referred to as 'DILF and MILF' on tv....ROTF

Yeah I was actually looking forward to No Reservations maybe my expectations were too high. I like the male actor, forget his name.
Also watched it not long after Darkcity and was still focused on Rufus' butt. so much so I rented cold comfort farm. I know pathetic. But I have to have the rufus fix.
Brave girl Micheal Clayton and American Gangster. I am in the mood for light stuff. So cold comfort farm and maybe a Knight's tale. I know Rufus night. Wish I had tristan and Isolde. I would like to see that again.
I could always read? nah....
also House is on tonight I think.
Have a good night gal.

Watched MICHAEL CLAYTON and I can say I liked it. I don't think it is a film that you can love because it is grim. It is well done with a great build up to the final scene. Clooney is good and Tom Wilkerson is brilliant as usual.
I think I have seen all the 'BEST' movie nominees for the Oscars except for ATONEMENT which I still refuse to see unless I am on my second glass of champagne with a box of tissues next to me. I can appreciate all the nominated films but I will pick NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. The film haunts me to this day. I would be tickled if JUNO won but NCFOM leaves an impact IMHO.

DEATH AT A FUNERAL - I liked it. There were chuckles coming from me!!!! This doesn't happen as often as I would like when watching a 'comedy'. The actors were great and there are some that I have never seen before that I would look forward to seeing again and again in film.
Must say that Jane Asher (ex-early girlfriend of Beatle Paul) looks fabulous for her age!!
I just have to say that I adore Alan Tudyk. Doing half the movie with a bare bum (nice one at that) was a brave thing to do. Naked and on acid....only AT could pull it off so well. The chubby actor who played the cousin was a bloody hoot! I have never seen a grin like that!!

I've been watching old movies I love lately but I plan on seeing some new ones while in Florida:) Gotta get me some popcorn!!!!:P

DOOMSDAY - Hey...blood, guts and action. Good popcorn movie, at least for me:P
10,000 B.C. - Mumsy wanted to see it and me being a good daughter I went with her with a minimal amount of kicking and screaming out the door. I actually got bored and almost dozed off and they had the air conditioning turned down to 30....ah ah chooo!! Don't waste your money. Wait for dvd or cable even.
I wanted to see IN BRUGES but there wasn't any time so I am making hubby take me tomorrow night. Plan on seeing MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY this week. I have to mix some good movies in with the blood and guts;)
Oh........I am absolutely drooling over the previews for IRONMAN and WANTED!!!!!!!! Can't wait!

Saw IN BRUGES. It has great reviews and all lead actors are awesome. It definitely shows that Colin Farrell has talent and hopefully he will continue in films of this caliber since Hollywood nearly killed his career. I guess I should state that this is an English film.
The movie is a dark comedy with emphasis on dark. If you are squeamish with violence and blood gushing everywhere, then refrain from seeing it. It would be a shame though since it is such a good film.
I took hubby who has a Russian accent and I nearly died when the movie started and the characers were talking in a thick Irish brogue. Yep, hubby didn't understand 75% of the movie LOL. Hubby is also very squeamish about bloody movies, so I kept getting the 'death stare' on the way home.
OT - My son's friend who is brilliant was majoring in engineering. He switched majors to....film school....

ENCHANTED- Charming....LOL. A good family movie. Amy Adams shines as Giselle, Susan Sarandon needed more screen time as the evil stepmother and James Marsden was an absolute treasure as Prince Edward. I have ALWAYS liked Patrick Dempsey and he was good but he looked so so tired!
MIST- Based on a novella by Stephen King. **shudder** **vomit** **vomit some more** **drinks 2 bottles of Scope mouthwash** Horrible movie. Ewww and bleack!!!

Post edited by: Myth, at: 2008/03/29 23:38

DAN IN REAL LIFE - Steven Carrell and great cast. Story about a widowed dad of 3 daughters and an annual gathering with his family where he meets a new love...he's brother's girlfriend. Actually a sweet family film with some nice laughs and many smiles. It moves slowly to build story and characters. If you get bored easily, it may not interest you. I liked it. And here you people thought I was only about blood and guts:P
ATONEMENT - I bit the bullet and finally saw this movie. I swore that I would never see it in the theater because it was a tearjerker and I cry easily....and it isn't pretty when I cry!! I've been doing tax work so I was depressed already so I said 'what the hell'. I didn't cry:ohmy: It was sad and tragic with graphic war wounds galore, but I sat through it and I did not hate it:) I concentrated on the acting which was excellent. AND then there is the James McAvoy factor:woohoo: It's a thing:whistle:
THE SEARCH FOR THE GREEN MILE KILLER- Lifetime has a movie channel? I never would have known that except that James Marsters had a small part as Ted Bundy....ewwww. (he was good) This is a two-parter and very well done with greatt attention to the facts and lengthy investigation. It's still Lifetime so you can probably see every other day for the next month if you are interested.

Doesn't anybody else watch movies???????
SOUTHLAND TALES - The reviews were horrible but I had a free rental so I got it out of curiosity. The reviews were kind. Of course, I am stating this after only watching 20 minutes of the movie but there was no way I was going to watch more. SMG sure picks some rotten films....ick.

Watched Enchanted over the weekend. James Marsden was adorable, and I just do not get the appeal of Dempsey.
Also saw Stardust with Claire Danes, now that was a fun movie to watch. Myth, rent it. Nothing screams fun like Robert DeNiro as an \"evil pirate who is a total homo but has to keep his evil reputation:lol: \"

Saw it at the theater and I enjoyed it. The reviews were not good though so it was not popular. Shame. Love DeNiro and Michelle Pheiffer.
I thought Dempsey look bad....red eyes with bags....like he never slept.

He always looks that way to me. I just don't see his appeal.
