Well, I will be able to say on March 11. Long story short, my university has a shortfall this year for students to play at the NCAA tourney (band got invited to play in Dublin, Ireland at the St Patrick's Day parade which coincides with the first and second round of the NCAA tourney).
They also decided to branch out the alumni band (we play football homecoming each year) to cover the holiday period of games (hired high school bands in year's past). I played at several games over Christmas and got an invite to travel with the men's team to the tourney. I had originally applied for the women's tourney since they had cooler cities like LA and Minneapolis but the men's is where I was placed.
March 11 is tourney selection day, so I will know where then. I'm bucking for Buffalo, NY since Niagara Falls is just a few miles away. We'll see. It's a paid-for trip with a daily stipend, and I get vacation time at work to do it!
