Ramones!!! How have you been? I've missed you!
I'm doing well. Both kids are going to school for at least part of the day now, so I get a little breathing room. They're growing up way too darn fast, but I'm told that kids do that. H1 is happy with his job. And I'm thinking of going to grad school in a couple of years.

Well, Ramones, I've been sticking around in the hopes of catching you, but I'm going to have to go for awhile. I have a cold and the doctor gave me some cough medicine that puts me out. I'm almost asleep sitting here. I'm going to take a little nap and hopefully will catch you later!

sorry flying in and out on the net so ... Bummer missed Val.
My little one No Nap Jack is now in Kindergarten and is a hoot. Tom my oldest is a big 6th grader. He is as tall as I am and I can hardly believe it.
So glad to see you again and yes yes yes go to grad school. I am thinking of the same thing.

Ramones - \"No Nap Jack\" LOL! Ryan is almost 4 now and he's in the in-between nap stage. He tries and tries to stay awake, but at some point in the day, he just sort of falls over. He's in preschool now. Elizabeth is a 7-year-old first grader with no top, front teeth right now. Is there anything cuter than that gap-toothed grin? As for me and grad school, you may change your mind when you hear what kind of grad school I'm thinking about...I'm seriously considering becoming a lawyer. I hope you're not thinking \"Ewwww\" right now.
B) The emoticon is courtesy of Elizabeth who thought it looked cool.

Val - when I first came to HMC you were pregnant with your first or second one:blink: Whoa...time flies. Didn't you have a back or neck problem...I think you were a nightowl back then. My youngest started college.

Myth - I was in a car accident that messed up my back for a little while. It wasn't too serious though...and who doesn't love the Vicodin...within reason. ;)
When I first started coming to NB, Elizabeth was about 18 months old, I think. It was after I had Ryan that my visits to NB became less and less frequent. Stay-at-home-mommyhood with an active baby boy to look after didn't leave me much time to visit with my NB friends. Now that he's older, it suddenly hit me how much I missed you all and wanted to see if I could reconnect.
Oh and as for the nightowl thing...yeah, I'm still not a big sleeper. Let's see, I didn't fall asleep until after 1:30 this morning, and I was back up by 7:30. And that was actually a pretty good night's sleep for me.

Post edited by: valeri29, at: 2007/03/23 17:12

well if we can stand one lawyer in here, another won't stink up the place too much longer.;)
I am headed back I think for my PhD in Science education. Cannot imagine doing it in the hard sciences again. Too much work. I am all in accepted now I have to find the funding for it. I may have to delay it for a year or go so inorder to pay for it.
WOW, 7 and a first grader. Man and the 4 year old phase is a very exhausting one.
I was at home when I started here and now find work has swallowed me whole so I am an infrequent and sometimes fly by poster. Unless I am bored at work.
Work today very very scary. It is spring break and no one is here. It is like working in a morgue. I may head home since it is so scary.
HEya 7 are you getting our rain yet? WOW the thunderstoms here were loud last night. We are in a wet weather holding pattern.
Well I am off again to do some work then I think I will run away it is creepy here.

Hey Seven! What's up? Big plans this weekend to spend that Friday paycheck? :)
Ramones - How to pay for school can be a scary thing. H1 and I are wondering how we're going to pay for law school. If I were unmarried, I could get loans out the...well, nevermind, you get the picture. But since we're married, they take H1's salary into consideration. Now, he does make enough for us to comfortably get by while I stay home with the kids. But paying tens of thousands of dollars worth of tuition in addition to the regular bills is not exactly gonna be easy. Higher education is a good thing...paying for it sucks!!!

Val - you want to go to law school:ohmy: And here I sit...hating the practice of law:( I don't know, maybe it is better to start school and practice when you are a bit older because the burn out starts after 10 years and then there is the 'jaded' factor. I stick with a probate practice now...less contact with clients. Although, I must say that I have been blessed with some great clients. That leads to another problem....my clients have estate plans when they are old and it rocks me when I get a call that they passed away. My daughter may go to law school. No one is more hyped about global warming and the enviroment. I can see her working for a lobby trying to protect the enviroment....she would be rabid!
BTW Val - Fiat is moving to Canada nextmonth, Wish moved to Las Vegas, Hippie is preganant and Aeryn is gettign married. The board has crashed at least 3 times and it takes a while for posters to come back and this board is way different from what many are used tto..sigh.

I love how Myth makes it all sound so simple:laugh:
I'm technically on \"vacation\" right now, till Wednesday. I, finally after 5 years got advanced at work, my stress levels dropped about a million points....my anger is diminishing.....slowly:dry: ..but I'm sure Myth will pep that back up soon. My mom is here visiting and my husband is in VA till tomorrow night, it's been nice having a big bed to myself with the cats for the last few nights.
Other than that....lots of shopping done, things cleaned, about to make dinner.
Love you all (even Myth sometimes)

Myth - I really, really, really want to practice law. I'm not 100% sure what kind of law yet (maybe corporate, maybe family...could those two be any more opposite?). Still stories like yours do give me pause. But I've wanted to be a lawyer since I was nine. I have tried to talk myself out of it, A LOT, but I keep coming back to it. I'm scheduled to take the LSAT this September. I took a practice test last month without much prep and got a 159...not great but not horrible. I'm kind of at the \"see what score I get and whether or not any law school will want me\" stage.
Thanks for getting me updated on everyone. I did see some of the announcements over on the Non-Whedon side and gave my best wishes. I'm especially happy for Fiat and Otts. I can remember listening to Otts go on and on (and dare I say, ON) about how he was never going to find someone. I swear there were solilioquies on how he was going to die alone! ;)
Nora - It's great to see you! I'm glad to hear you've been getting some down time. I'm looking forward to some of that soon myself. The kids have spring break right after Easter and I'm sending them off for some quality time with their grandparents. My house may even NOT be a disaster for a few days. I'll feel like I'm living in the wrong house!

I'm just sayin'. it's gettin' tough to be an available guy around here (altho with my luck the old battle-axe decided to drop the divorce) 'specially since I know ceili won't be back a round these parts anytime conceivably. Val if it is your dream to do it then you should go for it. Much better to try and go for something verses not and live a life of regret and what if's
and your house not a disaster wow am I jealous. I would have to drive out my boys, the dog and then change the locks!! if I ever want a clean house again.

Hello Selz, Seven, Ramones, Daddy, Nora and all NBers!
Ramones - Thanks for your support. The whole LSAT and applying to law school thing has me scared to death, but I've decided to do it anyway. Just as you said, it's better to go for it than to wonder what if.
As for the clean house, well, we'll see. Spring break isn't here yet. I may just forget the house and spend the week at the movies instead. I NEVER get to go to the movies anymore! You know, go to a theater, pay for a ticket, get totally fattening and unhealthy popcorn, and actually watch a movie without having kids interrupt you every 15 minutes or less? Does it still work that way?
Seven - Sorry about the bad week!
Nora - Back to work means we'll see you here more often, doesn't it? See, there's always something good mixed in with the bad! :)

Hey Ozgirl...good to see you back!! So, what's the low down on VM? Is it cancelled? If not, did you hear that Rob Thomas may skip the rest of college and we will find VM at the FBI Academy next season? This means the rest of the cast will bite the dust:blink:
Morning everyone. My mornings have been rough for days now due to the up/down weather challeges:( I think I have allergies and my head is busting. I was wearing winter clothes just 3 days ago and then we went immediately to 75 degrees for 2 days and now it is cold again. Argh!! My lilies outside went from peeking up to 3 inches above ground in 2 days:ohmy: Amamzing what warm weather can do!

Fluff! Hey, you! Are you behaving? Dare I ask? ;) Yep, Elizabeth is 7 and Ryan will be 4 in about 6 weeks. Now you see why I've been MIA for the past 2 years. Ryan is...well, I think the nice way to put it is \"active\". What that really means is that he draws on my walls in ink pen and pulls up the tulips in my flower bed...among other things. He is not quite the handful he used to be, but he still has his moments. There were times during the \"terrible twos and threes\" that I really thought I was going to end up in a padded room!
Hey ozgirl! It's good to see you. How have you been?
Ramones - I do make it to the movies alone very occasionally. I went to see Harry Potter 4 at midnight when it came out. I'll be there for Harry Potter 5 at midnight this July. Ummm... I'll also be waiting in line at midnight for the 7th book to come out. Gee... How much of a geek am I?
Myth - The up and down weather is messing with me too. I had three days of shorts and then today is long pants and jacket weather plus rain!
VM might be cancelled? NOOOOOOOOO!

Hello everyone! Just a flyby to let you know I'm still around and I'll try to drop back in tomorrow. I had house cleaning to attempt today (I didn't get far), kids to shuttle (Elizabeth had gymnastics), and cookies to bake (Aahh, is there anyone who doesn't love a suburban bake sale?). Tomorrow I have to run by the Girl Scout store, make phone calls to Girl Scout parents, try to come up with a Girl Scout craft for Monday's Brownie meeting, and run various and sundry other errands. For any of you out there who are thinking of becoming stay-at-home-moms...JUST SAY NO!!!! :woohoo: This emoticon is supposed to be the \"woohoo\" emoticon, but it looks as stressed as I feel!

Ramones, it's going to be an interesting year. The woman who runs the Buffy track ended her run last year, so no one really knows how the track is going to shape up yet I don't think. Matt and Eric could answer that way more than I could. They have some inside info there, I think. It's always fun though and the Buffy Horror Picture Show is worth the trip.
VL was good when I last spoke with her, Myth. She's working and in school. I tried to get some time to see her when I was in Columbus a couple weekends ago, but my schedule was nuts.
Glad it's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend. I've put in 40 hours already as of noon, so I'm leaving early today...
