Big hug to Nora! I understand. I want to go home too. Unfortunately, I'm already there. Ah, the trials and tribulations of a stay-at-home-mom!
Happy, happy birthday to Vampire Lady! It's great to see you again! I hope you have a fantastic birthday today and get great gifts! My birthday would be in 10 days IF I were having one this year. But I've decided that having a birthday every year is really too much of a good thing. I think maybe I should just skip it and be 34 one more year. ;)

I'm getting the love from Nora? Thank you, Nora. I love ya too!
Ozgirl - Happy soon-to-be birthday! I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for not getting this or that done this past year. However, if there's anything you really want to do, something that's within your power to accomplish, then I think you should go for it!

Thanks Val! :D I'm still a little too young to be deciding not to have birthdays. I'm just glad the horrible year of 21 is over with. :P
Nora! I am now 22, thank you very much! B)
Kristie - Saw it! Thanks again! YAY for Penguins! :D And as for doing things by certain days or within a year or something, I do that all the time. That's why I've stopped doing it and just wasted away at work. :P

Hmmm, Ramones...FaceBook...the thought of that mystery being unveiled...like Joel Spivak, my mind boggles.

Daddy: I still have some serious mystery! I am like a gem, many facets but one hard cold stone at a core that is hard to break it into its components. Maybe it was the catholic school training. Try finding me.
Okay: I am still a little a glow meeting Jim Butcher. He is like many of the guy friends I have bright, articulate, funny, sarcastic and a little ren fest geeky. He has warm brown eyes and a wicked laugh. I was unable to get a picture with him but I should have really tried harder. I was (I know no one is going to buy this) but too shy! What a weirdo I am. I have a signed book and am still smiling a little on the inside.
Okay work should be interesting today. I have to meet a former student who won a huge fellowship to get her PhD in Pharm Chem at the bar with coworkers I am not on the best terms with. I am going to do lunch at home and treadmill my butt off. I am hoping this lessens the stress and I can control the mouth. Yeah right!
Have a good one all.

Thanks Ramones and Selz!
Selz - What car trouble I had has decided to be nice to me and disappear (with the exception of the noticeable scratch/dent on the passenger side). I am very pleased about that.
Val - I'll keep that in mind, but I don't want to be 21 anymore so I'll wait til next year to skip a b-day.
Ramones - Even I don't have a MySpace. I do, however, have an LJ and a Facebook. For some reason, I just don't like MySpace and refuse to get one. I have enough trouble remembering to check/update LJ and Facebook, adding a third one to the mix could be disastrous.

Hey gang. I just wanted to let you guys know that my friend (the one with cancer) passed away this morning. The school pulled all of our Brownie troop into the office and told them together. I've been on the phone contacting parents so they know the girls will be upset. I'm a little numb right now.

val; same here.
Ramones;well, I started Buffy-boarding in spring '02 or possibly very late '01 so it's been a while. I don't itneract with you folks ehre as mucha s I once did because, well, you're all involved in things (especially TV shows and films) that I'm in no position to keep up with. In practice that means I get into more discussions elsewhere (the Beta, Aly H. Appreciatioon Soc., Essence of Amber.) But I won't be forgetting that those of us who go back to UPN's Threaded Bronze, well, that will always be the first circle of cyber-friends I made and I plan to keeep looking in as long as we maintain our group existence! (And who knows, maybe eventually I'll have aTV again and can jump in on stuff.)

Daddy - It's impossible to forget all of the NB crazies, isn't it? Unforgettable, loveable, and insane...and the very best of friends.
Speaking of insane... I think I saw Adam from Buffy season 4 in a commercial the other day. H1 thinks I'm a little off because I noticed! The guy was onscreen for about two seconds, and I was extremely excited! Ah, those of us who still love our Buffy need even the smallest of fixes now and again. :)

Ramones - I think maybe I would feel more normal if I were only excited to see an actor who was a main character do something new...Sarah or David or Nathan, for example. But I was excited about the actor who played Adam! I mean, seriously, the guy was covered in monster make-up for almost the entire season! How do I even remember what he looks like! Sometimes I feel like the queen of the geeks!
RRamones30 posts in this thread

Hey if you are queen of the geeks I am at least lady geek or baroness geek. I can spend endless hours excited about period dramas (latest infatuation is Robin Hood and North and South! aka Richard Armitage: not the one in Bush's cabinet)
Also I was excited by the fact that in Drive the wife for Nathan was Fred and I see others in there form Buffy and Angel and Firefly I almost want to see it just for that reason. Ann

Well, whedonesque is always popping up with enw threads, albeit not about commercials. And Essence has a whole \"Wasn't S/He on Buffy\" thread that has something a couple times a week. Face it, Joss \"did soemthing\" to us, even someone like myself who blowhards about being \"just a casual viewer no longer na obsessed fan\" because I'm still mad at him for soem things. (tara mainly) It's a pleasant disease tho, isn't it?

Ramones - I know what you mean about Drive. I've been watching it going, 'I love Nathan and Amy' and 'That's Jubil Early!' and a few more that I was all giddy. Lots of Joss alumni in it, but that may be due to Tim Minear. I love how they reuse actors, even years later.

Yeah but Drive unfortunately isnt that good of a show, but heaven forbid you tell a Nathanite that...they're all ready to storm FOX when it gets cancelled (and FYI it is being cancelled from what I've heard through the grapevine)

Nora: I agree not that thrilled with Drive. I found myself just watching it to see how many alums I could spy. I am quite sure it will not be a regular viewer of the show. Too bad I was looking for something fun.
Also the crazy Nathan fans, yepper scary. Although I believe an argument can be made by some that I could be included in the crazy group when it comes to Keanu and Clive.

FLUFF YES !!!! I see it on BBC America. I first saw Armitage in North and South and then in Cold Feet and again in Inspector Lynley. I love my BBC America and I see Inspector Lynley on our Public Television Mystery series.
I have to say Armitage is sexy bad man. I love a baddie in leather. Again explains my love of the Spike. Could be the left over punker as well. I still say most of my crazy infatuation belongs to Clive but Toby Stephens, Matthew MacFadyen and Armitage are not far behind. I also watched the Vicar of Dibley online in a streaming video site I love and thought the idea of Armitage and the Vicar was wonderful. It was a great finale to a hilarious show. I love the Vicar.
I know way too many words for your yes or no question. I know lame.

So is it not normal to play \"spot the Joss alum\"? I thought everyone did that! Ok, maybe it's just us. ;)
Just a flyby to wish all NBers well. I have a difficult task ahead of me this afternoon, and I just wanted to drop in to borrow a little courage from my friends. I have a Brownie meeting this afternoon, and I'm going to have the girls write thank you notes to my co-leader who passed away Tuesday. It's a tribute thing for her children to look back on someday. I know the kids will be excited and happy about the idea. I just don't know how I'm going to get through explaining the project without crying.

Myth and Nora - Can't we all just get along? Maybe not. LOL!
Myth - Yesterday was pretty awful at the Brownie meeting. I did make it through without crying although it was difficult. The hardest part...Margaret's daughter saying matter-of-factly, \"My mommy didn't deserve to die.\" I almost lost it on that one.
Seven - I'm sure you made a very dashing best man.
Oz - I think we all have those kinds of days. I think it's normal...or as normal as any of us get, I guess. ;)

LOL I most certainly will, val! He'll be thrilled to hear from you!
Canada greeted me in a very annoying way. My second morning here I woke up to SNOW. Yes, something like 4 inches of SNOW. IN APRIL. My boots were in a FedEx box somewhere between California and here, so I had to make due with what I had. Not to mention that it wasn't really that cold, so the snow very quickly turned soupy and it was a huge mess all day. Then, as if to make up for it, the following weekend was in the 70's.
