IRON MAN -. Yep, I saw it....couldn't wait. I liked it. I guess some people may consider it slow going until the action scenes but Jon Favreau, the Director, took his time building up the storyline which I appreciated. I understand that all the actors signed up for 2 sequels. My only complaint....the actors seemed stilted in quite a few scenes like they weren't comfortable in their characters. Still, I liked it. Popcorn was great!! Robert Downey looks yummy for his age....a mature superhero!
Rented 27 DRESSES - Cheesy fun. Rent it if you ave the time to watch, otherwise, wait for cable.

I watched the first two Scream movies last night. It'd been a long time. They were entertaining. I'll probably watch Scream 3 tonight.
Right now I'm watching Empire Records with my roommate 'cause she's never seen it. I can quote this entire movie. It's awesome.
Selz - Ironically, I was listening to mass today and Home Alone was the basis of the sermon today.
I've been watching Benny Hill mostly, but saw Narnia last night and it was decent.
Hopefully to see Iron Man soon and definitely have plans to see Speed Racer ;)

Back to the Future was on today, man that movie is still SO funny!
Taladega Nights the story of Ricky Bobby (stupid but it was on cable) and Meet the Robinsons which was really very cute! First Disney movie that isnt a Pixar that I found really good. Sweet story, good silly moments and decent writing, I was shocked.

Watched Airheads today. Haven't seen that one in a long time. Funny stuff.
Started to watch Stephen King's The Dark Half, but fell asleep about a half hour in. Not 'cause it was boring but because I was tired. Will try again tomorrow. We'll see. It was like a lot of SK movies, kinda slow and kinda hokey but still kept me interested.
Lone - Hope you like IRONMAN. I was all prepared for the slam bam graphics in your face action from the start but it builds slowly and I loved it that way. The beginning does grab you though. It made over 100 mil for opening weekend so I guess there will be sequels!!! The reviews have been awesome. I don't know about SPEED RACER.....I think I'll wait until dvd.
I'm salivating over the new INDIANA JONES and WANTED....can't wait.
Nora- I watched MEET THE ROBINSON'S on cable this weekend too. Yep, guess we ARE sisters!!! I thought it was delightful. I sooooooooooooooo want a robot like tat!!

Watched JUNO today. It was awesome! Ellen Page was terrific. I'm really glad I decided to just buy it instead of rent it 'cause if I had, I would be wanting it. But I have it. 8-)
I saw Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who...now I'm a huge fan of the Doc (guy's a genius, really), so I was really hoping they wouldn't fuck this up...and they didn't! It was brilliant! Just the right mixture of respect, love and doing right by the man and of making it a movie on its own. The design was impecable (there is no way that is how that word is supposed to be spelled...), the mixture of Seuss' story-rhyming and the story as they show it was perfect, and they kept it small, not over-dramatic (like the stampede scene, which could easily have been shot to impress, but instead of showing an angry mob, they showed each character of an angry mob...including a giant ridiculously-colored mammoth in the middle of everything just to push it). The ending was a bit lacking, but apart from that it was just perfect.
Now let's see an all-star rappers team recording Fox in Socks!

P.S. I LOVE YOU - A chick flick and I am not a chick flick gal unless it's on cable and there's nothing else on. I broke down and rented this because it has Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, James Marsters (yep, our JM) and Kathy Bates. Are you ready for this? I adored this film. I know the reviews were mixed and I didn't read the book but I thought it was done quite well. Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow were great and Harry Connick Jr. still surprises me as an actor. I wasn't entirely comfortable with Hillary Swank as the romantic lead but she was good. It's about a woman moving on and healing after her husband dies but it is done in a way that makes you smile. The last few scenes were wonderfully done.
Girls take note....Gerard Butler is gorgeous and this is the biggest acting stretch I have seen him do. I've swooned over him since DRACULA 2000 and I fell into loving lust after seeing DEAR FRANKIE.
Nora - I know you slobber over the younger males on SUPERNATURAL but Jeffrey Dean Morgan is simply beautiful and has the sweetest, tightest bum!!
Selz- JM is in the movie and I am pleased to say that he was GOOD. It's a chick flick so he has a smallish supporting part as GB's friend and he handled it well considering it had a somewhat powerhouse cast. I was proud of him. Absolutely not a 'one trick pony' here!!! **Kicks Selz in her arse**

I did see Speed Racer yesterday. It was a fun movie, but a few things about it.
Special effects were cool.
Too much dialog and needed more racing scenes.
The kid who played Spritle was annoying. I think less scenes with him would have been more beneficial.
All in all it was a enjoyable a bit over the top in the acting at time.
IMO though Roger Allman was good as Royalton reminded me a bit of his role as Prothero in V for Vendetta.
Also, there was a trailer for the new Eddie Murphy movie "Meet Dave" also starring Captain Carboard. He still looks a bit stiff in that trailer. Movie doesn't look too good though.

I had mixed reactions to PS I love you. It was ok to me. I love Gerald Butler, thank you Dear Frankie, but close to the end I was like omg will u please stop this. I adore Harry Connrick in movies.
I will pray for him to keep himself clean from here on in. They'll never be able to do sequels without him.

I think he will stay clean, of course I thought he would when he was on Ally McBeal, but he is married now and getting treatment, plus the insurance companies have insured him for the movie, so that is a big step. I remember his getting back after the relapse of Ally McBeal and no one would insure him.
Love RDJ on ALLY as well and was so disappointed that he was fired. Here's hoping he has his act together because is an incredible actor and gorgeous as well. I taped THE VIEW when he was on and Whoopi just adores him and thinks of him as one of the best actors in Hollywood. They were a hoot together in SOAP. I finally broke down and bought SOAP for $4.99. Love that movie!
I was a bit uncomfortable with GP in IRON MAN but she seemed to relax more as the movie progressed. Terrence Howard was a plus in the movie IMHO....I think he is a marvelous actor.
I think I watched TRANSFORMERS 3 times this weekend :o The noise kept me moving but I would stop and watch some of the same special effects and John Tuturro(/) made me smile with his characterization.

OKay this weekend was movie palooza:
Enchanted: Loved it I know lame Disney but I cannot help myself I am a sap.
PS I love you. I agree with myth I liked it but he is so much better in Dear Frankie!
Darjeeling Limited: Funny and thoughtful Not a laugh riot but much in the vein of Tannebaums(did I spell that right?). Good movie.
Kinky Boots. I love this movie. If you have not seen it you MUST It is wonderful and funny and somehow beautiful about acceptance of yourself and others. It is a great movie.

Saw Iron Man yesterday with my family for mother's day. It was AWESOME!
Had a sort of chick flick movie marathon thing going on this weekend. -A Cinderella Story -Never Been Kissed -Imagine Me & You -But I'm a Cheerleader
I am about 3/4 of the way through PS I Love You.. and NOT because JM is in it. I saw a book in the office lending library several months ago, which I read and loved. Next thing I know, it's a movie! Granted, it's not as good as the book but they rarely are. JM is vaguely likeable in it. :P

I watched Day of the Dead remake and a classic horror film The Innocents with Debra Kerr. Gotta love Netflix instant watch.
Yay! VL liked IronMan. It so rocks. Plus has RDJ in it woohoo
Ramones - I love KINKY BOOTS!!!!! And I simply adore and swoon over the black actor in it. He played the bad guy in SERENITY. I'd have to imDb him for the name....it's different. I think he is an awesome actor and have enjoyed him in every movie I've seen him in.

This week saw....
Lars and The Real Girl - Very cool flick. Crazy at first, and then all of sudden you feel an emotional tie with the lead.
Sweeney Todd - I didn't like it nearly as much as the majority did. Actually, if I had a thumbs up/down ratings system, I'd probably call it a down. The Astronaut Farmer - I liked it for the first 45 minutes, and then it turned into something geared towards 12 year olds on the Disney Channel.
Southland Tales - Horrible. Very, very horrible. Not in the good way either. The only film I hated more this year was Across The Universe.

Matt- I simply loved LARS AND THE REAL GIRL. Sweet movie and if you gave it time to develop I think the reward was wonderful.
I only watched the first 15 minutes of SOUTHLAND TALES. Yuck. Couldn't stand any of it and I thought SMG was horrible.

I think 15 mins is the standard for Southland Tales - if you're not into it by then then you'll never be. What a mess of a flick.
Saw IRON MAN yet again, if only because I'm still in a state of shock that a wide release comic-book summer blockbuster for once was actually a competently made well-structured and fundamentally GOOD movie. Takes me back to me teen-age years when people actually knew how to make mass entertainment films. If INDY 4 turns out well , this will feel like I'm 15 again.

Kinky Boots is awesome! I need to see it again.
I watched Untamed Heart yesterday and Bed of Roses today. I'm thinking maybe Heathers tomorrow to round out the mid-week with all Christian Slater movies.
I liked Southland Tales...it was funny (see quote in my signature). It had The Rock in it (OK, so I'm a wrestling fan...sue me. I'm a stupid, stupid boy). SMG was a pornstar - two things I am very appreciative about. I did not fall into his trap of "this movie has something to say, you'll see in the end", it was pretty obvious he was making it up as he went and laughing it up back in his crib about all the poor souls trying to figure out what the fuck is going on, when it is pretty clear he has no idea himself. I can see why it would get on one's nerves..."look at me, I'm different, I wouldn't be caught dead with a budget" (although this one wasn't made for peanuts...), but it didn't. I actually had a really good time and laughed a whole lot. Whaddaya know.
I should definitely see Iron Man.

I decided I needed to watch a few fun flicks this past weekend. First up was SPACEBALLS. Forgot that movie....so cheesy good: Rick Moranis in the big helmet!! "May the Schwartz be with you" "She doesn't look Druish". "I'm a Mog. Half man and half dog. I'm my own best friend".
MAD ABOUT MAMBO - Just plain sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
Saw INDIANA JONES IV yesterday. It was just plain wonderful when the music started up.....I got all teary eyed. It was good, not mind blowing for me. I think I was too too tired and almost dozed off half way through  This is one of those movies that I will enjoy seeing at home on DVD after seeing it on the big screen. Harrison Ford was in fine form and unlike many here, I love Shia....have since I saw HOLES and THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED.
Still drooling over WANTED. Saw previews for HELLBOY2....I am so there on opening day

In the last week or so, Otts and I have rewatched "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Temple of Doom" in anticipation for seeing the new one. I'm trying NOT to get my hopes up cuz let's face it, things aren't always as good as you anticipate.
Saw Iron Man earlier this month - love love loved it!

Rewatched Underworld for the umpteenth time. Damn I love that movie. Will be watching Underworld: Evolution sometime this week probably. And I just found out they're making an Underworld prequel. No Kate Beckinsale, it's about the Lycans, but I'll still probably go see it even though I'm a hardcore vamp girl, which shouldn't be too surprising to anybody.
Cute Disney movie and you can see which scenes they ripped off from Disney's past.
:P
Saw Tetsujin 28 - Ok movie dealing with Giant robots.
Godzilla - All Monsters Attack - my least favorite with mini Godzilla.
Godzilla - Terror of Mechagodzilla. MechaGodzilla just rocks. ;)

I finally watched my first Indiana Jones movie over the weekend. I know this probably makes me a bad George Lucas/Harrison Ford fan, but these are just some of those movies that have been on my list of to-watch for ages and I've just never gotten around to it before now.
Also saw Made of Honor and What Happens in Vegas in theaters. OK movies and fairly predictable, IMO.
My cousins called and I went willingly for dinner and then to see SEX AND THE CITY. Women leaving the theater were raving about it and it did have a great opening weekend....but I was just okay with it. It was good and it was great seeing the 'gals' again but I didn't think it was 'all that'. God bless Samantha though....she had the best lines!

Went to go see Prince Caspian yesterday with some friends. I thought it was very good, quite possibly better than the first.
Awe Myth...didn't like Sex In The City much? It was awesome seeing the "gals" together and yeah...it was a tear jerker. But still, I was so thrilled to see them all together again and would love a sequel. Samantha did have the best lines (as she always does). Classic SITC I thought. I heard the Indy show wasn't that great...anyone have a take on that one?

I usually take my mother to the movies on Mondays....it keeps her less violent....ROTFLMAO!! This Monday was her choice and she wanted to see THE STRANGERS. Please note, STRANGERS equals STUPID, RIDICULOUS and WASTE OF FREAKING TIME!!!!. Horrible movie. I wanted to walk out after 15 minutes. I tried to nap but that did not work out so I sat and watched. I am permanently scarred.
I will probably have to see THE HAPPENING next Monday. Don't know how I feel about that.
Rented THE DEATHS OF IAN STONE from Blockbuster online. Not bad at all. I love these unexpected pleasant surprises. It was part of the HORRORFEST movies from last summer.

Still umming and aaahing about Get Smart (opens here in a few weeks).
Have no desire or inclination for SATC.
Am still wanting to do Kung Fu Panda - but a late night session, no short people allowed  (that is short as in under 10yrs old :geek:).
Watched Tin Man the other week - I view it as a movie cause we watched it back to back  . Not bad at all.

I so hope the reviews for WANTED are good!!
I just read that James Purefoy is the new Simon Templar in THE SAINT movie. One word....swoon!
