15 DAYS AND 9 HOURS LEFT UNTIL TWILIGHT!!!!!

Nora - ROFLMAO!!! I really do love you to death! You know, we're really not that different. Almost everything pisses you off, and almost every person alive just irritates the crap out of me! ;)

VL - I currently have 6 tickets to the 12:01 am showing of Twilight in my purse. I'm going with my 2 nieces (ages 27 and 19), my nephew-in-law (who is actually my age and can I just say how irritated I get when he calls me "Auntie Val'), and a couple of friends of my niece. I'd love my husband to come with us, but it's difficult to find a babysitter from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am.

Val - Okay. Have seen poster of Edward. Hot. May go see movie rather than read the book. Perhaps it will spark the desire to read the books.

Is it bad that I'm still thinking 'Cedric Diggory' every time I see Edward (Robert Pattinson)?

VL and Nat - There's a t-shirt I found on cafepress.com. It says this:

Cedward - So...avada kedavra just turns you into a really hot vampire? Great plan, voldy.

Yes, I did laugh for a solid 10 minutes. There were even tears.

I absolutely love the books and can't wait for the movie, but that was fuckin' hilarious.

Except one criticism, the person who made that must not have read the books or paid much attention 'cause Bella never called herself pretty. She pretty much said the opposite of that. :geek:

Why does everyone keep apologizing to me? Really, I'm not that sensitive.

Besides, I'm in my Twilight induced euphoria, and nothing's going to get through that sucker. ;)

NORA WROTE:Seriously, the commercials are totally pissing me off. That chick playing Isabell is fucking ANNOYING and they're only focusing on the bloody chase scene!!!!! :x :x :x :x

Nora - Have you seen the latest commercial that features Bella's parents? There's not a chase scene in sight, and it completely cracks me up. I just love Charlie and his shot gun.

TWILIGHT IN JUST 8 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!! Can't wait til Thursday! Can't wait til Thursday! Can't wait til Thursday!!!! I don't know how much more of this I can take! *Val can't decide whether to bounce up and down excitedly or to sit in the corner, grasping her knees to her chest and rock back and forth*

So, does the husband come home before or after Thursday. I have a feeling he's going to have a very nice welcome home. I suggest locks on the doors and a little sound proofing before he returns.

Husband is home now. He will also still be home when the movie comes out. I don't know if he could take any additional ummm...affection...that the movie may cause. I'm about to kill him now. Hmmm... Perhaps I should warn him that he will be none-too-gently awakened when I get home in the wee hours of Friday.

Select Borders stores are having a Twilight movie pre-release party on Saturday, November 15th from 7-8:30 pm. Go to the Borders home page and click on Borders Media tab to find details. Call your local Borders to find out if they are participating. I'm probably going to the one in the next town over...if I can talk anyone into going with me.

Val, havent seen the commercials yet with her parents, only the chase ones....all the time.....

I'm making my husband read Twilight now so he can loathe the commercials with the same understanding.   That's wrong of me isnt it?

I'm not 100% sure, perhaps 65% sure, that my best friend's husband is making the trailers for said movie & well I'm amused by what the requests to do are    . Nora you most definitely would be   ...

Oh & Val they seemed to have moved up the Oz release schedule. Not a January date anymore...well I think not. Rather it is Dec 11 - which would make sense as that is when the schools break up for the summer break (which btw is only 6 wks for the kiddies - much to LegoKing's disgust when he discovered how long American summer breaks go fo LMAO. In Oz only the seniors finishing for good get a lengthy break     ).

So, Ryan's teacher scheduled a parent/teacher conference at 7:50 pm on Thursday, November 20. I have 8 people coming over to my house between 8 and 8:30 pm for pizza and Twilight goodness before we go see the movie. Am I a bad mother because I'm going to speed through that conference like a Meyerpire?

TWO DAYS AND 6 HOURS UNTIL TWILIGHT!!!!

Nat - Over the top? Me? Ummm...

First of all, it's not OMG!, it's OME! (Oh. My. Edward.). Secondly, yeah, I don't know what Ryan's teacher is thinking. Does not the entire universe know that it's Twilight night and all activities unrelated to Twilight should cease? Thirdly...

12 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES TO TWILIGHT!!!!

Nat - Ummm... How was it? Which time? I saw it at midnight Thursday and twice Friday. I LOVED IT!!! And it just gets better every time I see it. Between Edward, Carlisle and Jasper, I was squirming in my seat...in a good way. So, is it wrong that when Carlisle first appears on the screen, breezing through the doors of the hospital's ER, all I could think was (cue music)...

I believe in miracles...where you from...you sexy thing...

To all Twilight fans:

I just read that our beloved Twilight, which took $37 million to make, took in $35 million at the box-office YESTERDAY!!! That's a bigger opening day then both Indiana Jones 4 and Quantum of Solace. Box-office prognosticators are now saying that Twilight could see a $75 million opening weekend. That would be half way to the $150 million that Catherine Hardwicke said it would probably take (TOTAL box-office) for New Moon to get made...in ONE weekend!!!!

OME!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Val - and before it's all said and done, you'll have contributed at least $1M to the cause. ;)
valeri2962 posts in this thread
#132 · Nov 22, 2008
Nat - Only $1M? Everyone else in my life was joking that I was responsible for $30M of the $35M.

Ok, Summit officially announced today that New Moon WILL be made. I'm so happy I now have something new to obsess over...although I'm sure I'm not quite done obsessing over Twilight at the moment.

Twilight is #1 at the box office with $70.6 million. I only went 4 times, so not all of that was me. ;)

I'm trying to restrain myself until next weekend to see it again. I'd like to see it at least 3 more times. I know, I'm an addict.

Movie = AWESOME!!!

Went to midnight showing and once again Friday night. Was gonna go Sunday but I kind of got happy drunk on Saturday and didn't wanna leave my house on Sunday. Thinking I may go sometime this week after work. I know for a fact I'm going the day after Thanksgiving.

Was soooo excited when I heard about the $70.6 and the definite New Moon!

I love me some new(ish) vampires!!!!

VL - You're in Dayton, right? If you find yourself in need of a Twilight partner to see the movie with again, let me know. I'm sure I'll be in the double digits before I'll be able to stop seeing it. :D

Myth - THE MOVIE WAS ALL KINDS OF LUSCIOUSNESS!!!! I've loved it more every time I've seen it. Is it perfect? No. But it totally satisfied me as a Twilight fan. Without being too spoilery, here are my top 10 reasons to see Twilight:

10. The very last shot of Victoria
9. Mike Newton outside the diner
8. The fight scene in the ballet studio
7. The entire baseball scene
6. The prom scene
5. Charlie and the shotgun
4. The kissing scene
3. Carlisle breezing through the doors of the ER
2. Jasper in the baseball scene
1. Edward Cullen - Rob Pattison made a great Edward and I could just stare at him for hours (and already have)

VL - I'm available almost any time on the weekends and every weekday early afternoons (Ryan gets on the bus at 12:50 and gets home at 4:10). Seriously, if you'd like to go see the movie with me, let me know. :D

By the way, just missing my top ten...

11. Charlie and the pepper spray

I get off work at 4, but you may get a private message about the weekend possibly, even if I will be going this Friday again to drag my brother and dad to see it.

Oh my .... I have to be the nay sayer yet again.

I saw the film and was so sadly disappointed. I was also that fan of the Anne Rice stuff that hated the films.

I know purist.

Some of my students adored the movie others thought it was tripe. I am somewhat in the middle. I have trouble with the neutered vamps and the bad acting. I thought it just lacked so much of the lovely angst that the book had.
What do you do when the one thing you need to save your life is the one thing that would make life unbearable?
valeri2962 posts in this thread
#144 · Nov 28, 2008
Ramones - Don't say "nay sayer", please. It's one of my pet peaves. Along with horse sounds. Any use of the word "nay" in any form or spelling really. Nay was my maiden name. Believe me, you don't want to know how many times I've been whinnied at. ;)

Again, it's all good if you didn't like the movie. Your opinion (again) is just as valid as mine. Personally, I thought they did well hitting the highlights of the book. I wasn't expecting a classic masterpiece of cinema to come from a popcorn fiction book; I was expecting (and got) a popcorn movie. I also knew they weren't going to give me everything I love from the book...the movie would be 8 hours long. I'll admit, the movie had flaws. But the prom scene alone was worth my price of admission (all four times). Just my opinion, for what it's worth (which is absolutely nothing). :D

I will admit that there were times I wanted to smack Kristen Stewart upside her pretty little head for not changing the infliction in her voice or being emotional enough, but overall I enjoyed the film enough to see it 3 times already. 4 will be tomorrow and 5 will be Sunday. 8-)

VL, you've been PM'd. ;)

So, I went to see the movie again last night and it was the worst viewing ever. There were a bunch of teenagers there who just wouldn't shut up. Now, I didn't mind the teens at other showings who have just been excited about the movie and cheered and laughed during it. These teens were just out to be disruptive and annoying. I was thinking firing squad, but I decided it was too quick and painless for them. I really would have liked something that required extensive torture beforehand.

I had that on my second viewing. I had a row of 12 year old boys with maybe a girl in the mix somewhere behind me. They were talking throughout and one of them was even saying the lines of the movie before the actors said it. Highly annoying. Wished I had an assault rifle at that point in time. They would have shut up then.

LONG POST IS LOOOONG- I ended up rambling, feel free to disregard this post ^^

Hey all,
Seems I dropped in and out of the loop just as swiftly as usual. (Some day i'll be here long enough for someone to remember me :P)

I havn't seen the movie yet, I wasn't going to bother until I caught up on this thread- now I might go if le boyfriend pays. (It's our 4 year tomorrow, so he might offer :P) The trailers have made the movie seem VERY B-grade thus, turning me off the movie.

I also have a new annoyance with book 4. I noticed how Meyer was always pushing the morality thing (lack of sex, etc) which generally gave me the impression that she was taking impressionable youth into considerration (as well as her religion, of course) when writing the series but did she decide to throw all of that out the window with the introduction of *cringe* Renesmee? If I had a nickle for every time I heard a pre-pubescent teen talk about how cute IT sounded and how much they hope theirs looks like that etc etc etc.. well, i'd have whatever amount 6 or 7 nickles works out to. Hmm i'm not making my point as well as i'd initially planned (it's 5am.. the sun is coming up, cut me some slack :P). My point is- yes, Meyer makes the birth sound terrible- but once that's all over BOOM! Instant beautiful, smart child who sleeps all night while you get to have sex with your hot husband. I get that it's a bloody story about VAMPIRES but really now, couldn't we have been a little more realistic with aftermath of childbirth?

I've already come up with arguments against my point, so feel free to do the same ^^
